That's honestly a really unfair question to ask a kid that's spent less than a week in the majors. Like WTF are you supposed to say? He handled it with humility and class, but even if he'd really like to be a major league starter (which I have to assume he would), there's no way of saying that in the middle of week one of your rookie year without catching a bunch of flack for it.

Positives: Ohtani appearing fully healthy and ready to go. CRod showing legit high level major league stuff. Walsh looking like he can be an all-star caliber everyday player. Stassi picking up where he left off last year on offense. Taking 3/4 from what is likely to be a 90 win team. Negatives: Defensive issues that I truly believe will be fixed pretty quickly. That one bullpen meltdown on Friday that took us out of a game we still had a shot at winning late.

I know it's only a 32 game sample size from last year, but if Walsh comes anywhere close to replicating those numbers over a full season then we have a very special player on our hands. Dude rocked a .971 OPS with 9HR in 32 games last year. Project that out over 160 games and that's 45HR. Obviously he's not going to play that many games, but let's say he plays 130... a .900+ OPS and 30-35HR is not an unreasonable projection IMO. And that makes 1-6 in our lineup pretty freaking lethal.

You should be man. It’s real freaking baseball again. We got robbed of this last season, and there is zero reason not to be excited about seeing this team really get going.

It could be heard on the broadcast, and it was great.

The stuff plays well. The fastball is firm enough, and he clearly is confident with both the slider and the change. That’s, well, really freaking good.
