  1. That "double" was basically the summary of this game so far.
  2. I can't explain the cosmic forces involved, but your thread broke Garrett Richards.
  3. That could've been far worse the way things were going.
  4. I guess there are far more embarrassing google searches you could've accidentally copy-pasted.
  5. Are you watching through cable or mlb.tv? If it's the latter this should work: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hola-better-internet/gkojfkhlekighikafcpjkiklfbnlmeio?hl=en
  6. And the Orioles. 22nd in runs scored, -8 run differential, and 4-6 this last week. Clearly being 2 games over .500 in the AL East is like 10 games over in any other pitiful division.
  7. As good as our SP has been, I'm not even sure it could be classified as overperforming. - Weaver and Wilson are about what you'd expect. - I and I'm sure a lot of others felt Skaggs was fully capable of the mid 4's ERA he's sitting at. - If you average out Santiago's messy starts with Shoemaker's two unexpectedly good ones, you get a semi-mediocre 5th spot. Shoemaker will regress from these first two starts because he isn't going to win the Cy Young, but Santiago is probably going to be better given another opportunity. - Richards is the wild card here. Many of us optimistically felt this could be a breakout year, but a mid 2's ERA is beyond the most hopeful expectation. Then again, when you throw a 97 mph sinker, just keep the ball over the plate and sky's the limit. Doc's endurance concern is probably the biggest one. I feel like the young guys could very well keep doing what they're doing for the time being, but neither has ever thrown close to 200 innings. No need to empty the coffers for a big name, but a midseason trade for a decent sp who can eat some innings may be main priority.
  8. That we're keeping them close for now is huge, though. We will get better in the next month with guys returning and Trout hopefully remembering he's Mike Trout, while the A's are living off a (probably) unsustainable staff ERA of 2.92 and some overperformance on the offensive end (Derek Norris has a near 1.000 OPS).
  9. Callaspo has been walking and not much else lately. His slash from the last couple weeks looks just like Ibanez's.
  10. He played 5 games at 3B in Salt Lake. But right now he and Efren Navarro are all we have to play LF.
  11. Who'd have guessed at the beginning of the season that this would be a valid topic? If the decision is eventually made to put Ibanez out to pasture, there's room for one of these guys to stick even when Hamilton and Calhoun return. Cron as the successor to DH has felt like a given for the past couple months, but Navarro has certainly made himself known since he came up. Navarro has much better plate discipline and defense, but the thing that's always made him a fringe player -- the lack of power -- is a big advantage for Cron. The fact that Navarro is a lefty and can spot in the outfield may give him the edge. Also, from a development standpoint Navarro is 28 and pretty much the player he's going to be, whereas Cron can still benefit from getting everyday ABs in the minors (like learning he doesn't have to swing at anything remotely close to the strikezone). We actually have depth this year. Feels good man.
  12. Every team is going to have their share of blown games in a season, maybe we just frontloaded all of ours.
  13. I don't get what one has to do with the other. Green is an infielder who just happens to be playing LF because we ran out of corner outfielders.
  14. It could be Green, but relying on his defense there is probably not a good choice.
  15. Yeah 7-10... I think we can safely say he's rehabbed. I think it's probably Navarro going down.
  16. Aaaaaand another one: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/63817564/v32949129/oakcle-umps-review-ball-off-center-wall-in-7th This is starting to look like the NFL replacement refs last year.
  17. hah Salmon wondering why Scioscia keeps taking Cowgill out of the leadoff spot. Preach, Tim.
  18. Turning into the gatorade... bold move, C.J.
  19. He pulls the ol' switcheroo -- the ball he gives her isn't the one he caught. Rocking pink sunglasses later in the game (at night).
  20. Was going to post that my heart can't handle a Trout K/Pujols groundout combo but didn't want the jinx assault. inc chest pains
  21. But how do we make room for Ian Stewart when he returns?!
  22. Green finally pops his big league cherry. EDIT: I completely forgot he hit one last year. Apparently so did Gubi.
