Considering that we gave Pujols and Hamilton massive contracts, there is a 0% chance we do not resign Trout. Money will not be an issue. The only way it could possibly happen is if Trout hates the Angels so much that he turns down a larger deal to sign with another team, which is unlikely. 

The blue part indicates his weak areas, and the red indicates his strong areas. As you can see, there is no red. 

It's ok, I came home JUST in time to watch that fabulous 9th inning tonight.

The competitive side of me wants them to stick it to the Yankees.

 

The pragmatic side of me knows that every loss is 0.00000000000000023% chance that Fatty is finally fired and a step in the right direction of turning this org around - and about a 1.2% chance we improve our draft slot.

As a side note, I heard a SICK stat driving today on the M&M show.  I've not verified it, but Kershaw - when given 4 runs or more - is 49 and 0.

I'm really glad Chris "0-4 with 3 K's" Nelson is our starting 3rd baseman. We're very lucky to have a player of his caliber. 

I'm glad we didn't try to sign Kuroda instead of Blanton.  It would suck to have to play a one game playoff. 

Don't worry, we'll make up for by giving him 7/120 this offseason. 

Funny, there's an article on ESPN about Trout saying roid users should get a lifetime ban, and the top comment (probably by a Tigers fan) is suggesting that Trout is a user himself. Hey, if other people are just gonna trash any good young player that comes around, it's only fair to return the hate and be suspicious of Cabrera. 

Is it wrong if I only look forward to Trout/Calhoun/Green's at-bats?

Why is Nelson even on this roster, much less batting 5th? He is completely useless and has not one iota of upside. 

That's a good bet ... but the Tigers may not be in first place with Trout in their lineup.

So Trout is 7 full wins worse than Cabrera over the course of 113 games? Nice one troll. 

And we lead the league in stolen bases allowed, with 101. That's 10 more than the next closest team and 39 more than the MLB average. 

I assume we lead in Outs on Basepaths.

We actually do have the third most outs on the basepaths (not including pickoffs and caught stealing) in the majors, behind Texas and Boston. Last year we were worst in the majors (http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/MLB/2012-baserunning-batting.shtml)

To be fair, if we had signed Beltre, he'd be a .250/15/60 player for the duration of his tenure here. 

Replace 'Safe Hit' with 'Baserunning Blunder' and it's a perfect representation of Angels baseball. 

doesn't look like a slump

Yeah, there's a point when it stops being a slump and turns into a permanent decline. Slumps don't last an entire season. 

Green will go 0-4 with 2 K's and everyone will want him sent back down.

I don't get how someone can say this debacle has no impact. We signed this guy to be one of the key parts of our bullpen, and he never pitched a game. Because of that, we're forced to throw guys like Gutierrez and Stange out there in close games and our bullpen is a complete mess. I would say that's an impact. 

Chatwood was terrible when we traded him. He had a 1:1 BB/K ratio and was stranding runners at an unsustainable rate. Like Segura and Corbin, none of his stats while in this organization pointed to him being as good as he is now. Of course, that could just be an indictment of our player development. Either way, Chatwood likely wasn't going to be any good with the Angels. 

Yeah not sure where that .270 average is coming from. Nelson is hitting about .240 away from Coors in his career. 

We need about 8 new relievers.
