To be fair, most people saw through Jimenez because he displayed poor plate discipline throughout his minor league career.
-
-
What happened to Johnson? He really fell off.
-
First let's see how long we can extend this streak of walkoff losses.
-
Judging by our last two offseasons, I would rather not wait until then.

You guys crack me up ... silly poll Did you suddenly forget who owns the team?
So I'm assuming you voted No
-
-
I'm pretty sure Green is better than Nelson and Calhoun is better than Cowgill/Shuck, but keep trolling
-
Somehow it wouldn't surprise me if the Pirates offered Taillon and we turned it down.
-
As bad as Frieri is, everyone else in the bullpen except for maybe Kohn is even worse.
-
Not sure why Toronto would give up a front-line, Major League or MLB-ready starting pitcher when their pitching is an even bigger mess than ours.
-
So, predictions for Frieri in the ninth inning? How many pitches before he gives up the game-tying and game-winning homers?
-
Is there any lead this team won't blow?
-
Wow, we might actually win a ballgame.
Hey, it's only a 3-run lead, let's not get carried away.

Career numbers are career numbers -- Pointing out the K rates this year because for all the sabermetric beliefs that K rate is a strong indicator of continued success, it often means diddly. Blanton has posted a K/9 rate over 7.4 since 2009, his ERA over that span has been 5.51 Is a five year sample good enough for you?
You talking up his K rate and ignoring everything else could easily be called a nifty job of cherry picking. Particularly since the pitcher you're talking up gets to face pitchers 3-4 at bats per game.
To be fair, he's also the one poster on this board that actually defends Blanton, so I would take it with a grain of salt.

Green's minor league stats have been consistently good,
-
Woah, we actually got a player who doesn't completely suck.
-
-
Cowgill > Hamilton, and that is not even an exaggeration. I'm firmly convinced that Cowgill would outproduce Hamilton over an entire season.
-
Great idea, let's trade quality players for a guy with a 5.23 ERA who is displaying a distinct downward trend since his one good season.
-
The thing that surprised me was that it took 4 batters for Frieri to lose it. I fully expected him to give up homers on the first two pitches of the inning.
-
And people though we improved our bullpen from last year.
-
Saw that coming all the way from Georgia.
This team is one arm in the starting rotation and one in the bullpen from competing in 2014
