Damn walks

Fernando Salas had a win and two saves in 11 postseason appearances for Hermosillo in the Mexican Pacific League. Hermosillo won the Mexican winter ball title and will represent the league and country in the round robin five team event. Erick Aybar hit .172 with 2 RBI and a triple for Dominican champion Licey, but he will not join the Tigres in Margarita by request of the Angels. The action starts on Saturday with Puerto Rico vs Dominican Republic followed by Cuba vs Mexico.

Salas got the win in Game 3 on Friday. He finished the 7th inning down 5-0 and Hermosillo put up a six-spot in the eight to take the lead. Hermosillo lost Game 4 to Navojoa, no appearance for Salas. Series even at two.

Barry Enright helped Hermosillo to a Game 1 victory in the Mexican Pacific League final series. Enright pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings and yielded seven hits to collect his first win of the post season of Mexican winter ball. Hermosillo won the first game 4-0 and currently trails 6-1 in Game 2. New Angel Fernando Salas pitched well in the previous round of playoffs, although his blazing 84 mph fastball worries me.

Enright on Friday: 6IP, 7H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, K, WP (ND) as he helped first place Hermosillo to a 4-3 victory over three-time defending league champ and Caribbean Series Champ Ciudad Obregon. Season ERA for Enright stands at 2.68.

Barry Enright pitched into the 8th inning and gave up two runs on five hits as his team dropped a 2-0 game on Sunday. Enright fell to 4-2 with Hermosillo in the Mexican Pacific League. He is tied for second in the league in wins and has posted an ERA of 2.36 over six starts. The league is somewhere between AA and AAA level. Barry has been terrible in AAA, including 7-7, 7.12 with Salt Lake City in 2013, and even worse in two stints in the bigs with the Angels.
