    Machado likely ends up as a 1B in 3 years. I would definitely shy away from locking him up to a 8-10 year deal at $30 mill a year (likely market price).

    Tanaka has pitched with a similar injury for years. Attacking the medical staff here without details is such an Internet thing to do. Ideally this forces the Angels hand to dump TheAlbertross, freeing up DH for Ohtani next year.

    If Scioscia is out after this year I could see the new regime work with the FO and ask Lozano to check around baseball to see if anybody would have interest in Albert if he were DFAed. If Scioscia leaves the club I would be shocked if TheAlbertross was on a MLB roster entering 2020. Shocked.

    I like the concept of signing Marwin Gonzalez... obviously depends on price. I’d be rather surprised if Matheny got another managerial gig. Very surprised. Machado likely lands the biggest deal in MLB history this fall. 10 years/$280 million may be the starting point. Phillies have the need and financial resources to go higher.

    Proof the Angels have more TJ surgeries of impact players than most other teams? could also be a result of the team taking more risk with draft prospects to make up for a lackluster system the past 7 years or so.

    Ohtani won’t be moved to the bullpen unless he asks to be moved. I highly, highly doubt this will ever happen. the Angels must stick to the plan and keep him as a starter. He’s far more valuable as a starter.
