It is extremely sad. I have sort of changed my point of view on suicide, really from discussions on here. I still think it is the ultimate selfish act. However I do believe many who kill themselves don't see it that way. Many believe their loved ones are going to be better off without them. Regardless, fame and money are not a guarantee of happiness.

I think you are missing my point. I haven't watched Fox News in two decades. I am not arguing whether they are good or bad. What I am saying is that the political discourse in this country had to have been broken down for Fox News to even exist. People don't feel disenfranchised for no reason and a lot of folks do. When I see people blame entities or the other side for big problems I see a symptom of what I feel is a larger problem. We don't want to take responsibility for our own faults anymore. I can blame the liberal media, I can blame Fox News, I can blame the libs or the cons, just as long as I can pretend my poop doesn't stink.

Two different issues but on the one you are wrong. Fox News doesn't sweep onto the national scene if there wasn't a void for them to fill. The fact that such a large portion of the country believed they needed Fox News to represent them should tell you all you need to know about the discourse that existed before they even came about.

I'm not sure he was any kind of positive influence but I don't think we get to blame that one out. This country did that on its own.
