  1. I'm having a hard time believing Vladdy used the word "exalted."
  2. In hindsight, and with the inclusion of the 2002 World Series win, the most notable thing about that clip now is that there's a dude in the first row, just to the left of home plate rocking a Sonny Crockett ensemble, Miami Vice circa seasons 1 and 2. There's no way you'd see that in Seasons 3-5. So, seeing as this game was played in October 1986, Miami Vice was entering its third season. That dude's duds were sooooo '84-May 1986.
  3. It would be something else if she were African-American.
  4. I like when the black chick says, when it comes to equality, "black people are at the bottom of the totem pole." I'm guessing her native american, er, native canadian friends would beg to differ. They should throw them all in a paddy wagon.
  5. God bless Olney. The dude just keeps on hacking. Wait until he learns that everyone is having a good laugh at his expense.
  6. Went up to Napa to have Thanksgiving with family. My brother, who is very laid back, and his unemployed wife, who is always angry at someone, usually a former boss, hosted. She's a huge Bernie Sanders supporter. She has that luxury. Their space cadet son was there. He's an 'art' student. The more art school he goes to, the worse his art gets. It's truly amazing. He's got a long beard now and unkept, scraggly hair. He joins Black Lives Matter protestors on occasion in Oakland. As a starving art student whose tuition is about $40K per year, he has that luxury. I drove over with my mom and my new dad. Both are frugal, value a dollar, and buy things only if they can afford it. Remarkably, politics did not come up at dinner, though i was fully prepared to referee when/if the time came. The art student was supposed to graduate this year. But he needs two more quarters. Seems he's not making his drawrings fast enough. His art school hasn't down him the internship they promised him. So they suckered him into more tuition to get it done. We are doomed.
  7. I always get the deep web and the dark web confused.
  8. The victory here is that it's not Erstad. It appears the Doyyers were not thirsty for Ersty. The Doyyers remain thirsty for tecate.
  9. At face value, Homeland is a terrific show. The current season is stellar. I hate that I'm almost caught up on the episodes. The last couple seasons possess excellent storylines and structure, along with some pretty solid new characters.
  10. I think it's a logical conclusion that the long term motivation for the "Affordable Care Act" was to force mergers of, then bankrupt the larger insurance providers. The smaller companies don't have the infrastructure to sustain in the long run so they're toast in just a matter of time. Ultimately, the country will have no choice but to go with single payer healthcare because any choice we might have today will be gone. I thought it would take closer to 15-20 years, but it is heading that direction much faster then I originally thought. Goodbye choice, goodbye talented doctors, goodbye a certain amount of medical innovation. Congrats Obama! Mission (almost) accomplished!
  11. I will always remember him for two things: 1. That an Angels pitcher never hit beaned him. 2. His usual HR stare/bat toss at Boston after Garrett Richards was taken off the field on a stretcher and whoever Angel pitcher with a cold arm came in and served it up. Yes, the class of the game will be missed.
  12. He would probably tell the Syrians to stay in Syria and help fix the problems of the Syrians as a moral obligation He would tell ISIS to stop with their shenanigans. And then ISIS would blow him to bits because he's Christian. Actually, they would blow him up before he could tell anybody to do anything.
  13. Because ISIS is contained and there is never enough money, the Plagiarizer In Chief will be in LA to do some fundraising. Beware of seldomly used Wilshire and Santa Monica Blvds. near Sawtelle tomorrow from approximately 8-10am. Off-peak hours for sure. Ain't no party like a west coast party...
  14. I will miss the face and antics of Ghostface Killah.
  15. They appreciate white privilege. Personally, I think it's racist and hurtful that these women do not embrace their own culture more. It is hurtful when they dress-up as rockabilly chicks to attend Morrissey concerts. Everyone should respect that rockabilly in its stylings was originated in the American south, primarily. Subsequently, it was embraced by white peoples in England, who added their own, Anglo translations of the form. It was this style that was then re-introduced to the causasian American peoples, at which point it was culturally hi-jacked by non-caucasians. To see non-whites dress in this style is clearly a mockery of the caucasian cultural experience. That there is not a dedicated class or program on this subject at Yale is yet another micro aggression against the caucasian race. Now, I am craving Del Taco.
  16. For what it's worth, Karl Marx is buried in London. People pay to see his grave. I think it's in Highgate Cemetery. On a particularly cold morning, I threw snow balls at the giant head made in his likeness which tops his grave marker. I'm pretty sure I committed a microagression in this act. I'm also pretty sure Highgate Cemetery was the inspiration for the lyrics in "Cemetery Gates" by the Smiths. The Smiths and Morrissey are popular with certain latinos/hispanics/indigenous peoples. I feel terrible. In retrospect, by throwing that snowball I created an act of hostility against all persons of color, and probably women, too. It is a white man's privilege to pay to enter a cemetery. I would like to open a dialogue about this with the hope that we can all heal. I will begin: I am sorry for the snowball.
  17. Just watched that video of the professor getting yelled at. I blame him. He stood there and listened like an idiot. Stupidity gets even dumber if it has an audience.
