I have to ask, as a poker player was he making the right calls?

Lol. Not really. I took a ton of money from him. It was a fun night.

I played poker with Eddings about 4 months after the Strike/Non Strike/ Perzinski incident in 2005. I played with him for hours before he told me what he did for a living. The whole time I kept thinking, this is the coolest guy ever, until he told me he a Doug Eddings. I looked at him after he told me his name and said, "I'm and Angels fan". He looked at me back and said "Ohhh, you KNOW who I am".

The Reason he keeps his job and even made it thru the ranks, is because he is soooo cool. He really has a kick ass personality. It was hard not to like him. Even after I knew who he was. I work in radio, and work closely with ESPN sports radio here in Vegas, and they said the same thing, Great guy, someone you want to hang out with and that's why he made it thru the ranks, not because he's good. After spending hours sitting next to him, hanging out, I totally can see it. I know it's not right, but it's the only thing that makes sense.

Well the wildcard wasn't a 1-game coin flip in 2002, so there's that...

And if it was, we would of gone home early.

 

Why is we will be the one game plyoff anyways? Im not understanding why We would be.

Any idea when they're going to replay it?

Bow and Arrow. First it was against a team that gives us fits, and secondly, karma karma karma. It couldnt of been scripted better.

The Rays are hot right now, winning 15/20. They may not be willing to give up Price now. 

I definitely would not call our rotation top 5.  Not even sure it is top 5 in the AL.

Our team ERA is 3.78, 6th in AL and 15th in all of baseball. We are .02 of a point from 3rd in AL.

We haven't done the play-by-play much, if at all, this year.  I used to do it quite a bit the last 2 years, but it seems like by-and-large, people have access to some alternate form (TV, radio, MLB GameDay, etc.).  This is just a discussion thread now.

No actually I'm not. I've been a member here for awhile and this site use to have a thread that kept up with the game. Clearly that is no longer the case. No need to be condescending. I asked nicely and genuinely.

There were all kinds of reports/rumors and players saying how they felt the last couple of years. The Nolan Ryan thing was pretty well known/hears, although Nolan was a pro and PC about it. Josh talked about it, Ian Kinsler, and others.

I went to play poker last night, and asked the room to put on the Angels game. The told me it was over. I said, "No, its only the 6th inning". They coninued to state that it was over. I laughed and said, "NO its not, I enjoy watching The Angels kick the shit out of Texas, it brings me joy". They put the game on ;-)

 

Having said that, I think their GM and the way he treats people has more to do with their fall than the DL. Nolan Ryan leaving tells me that.

Why are you guys talking about changing the lineup when what we have now is clearly working? Figuring out SP and CJs slide is more important than fixing something that isn't broken.

I love Calhoun! Aside from the obvious Trout Love, Calhoun is my favorite player on this team.

This team is awesome! Everyone contributes, some more than others, but we are always a threat to the other team I love it.

These Pujols sucks threads are boring and pedestrian. Same old shit, over and over again. Never,ind the fact that this team is winning, sometimes because of Pujols, sometimes because of Trout, or because of Kendrick, Aybar, Kalhoun, Cowgill, pitching or sometimes because of everyone. And other times, we lose because of all those same people.

Let's not pay attention to the fact that Trout is constantly talking to Pujols about hitting, and learning from him. Nope, if Pujols isn't hitting bombs evey night then he is worthless, even though we are winning, for the first time in years. Even though he teaching and mentoring the best in the game. Nope, he sucks.

Boring.....
