  1. Exactly...the guy has a .312 .399 OBP .926 OPS in over 1,000 minor league AB's He's got power and patience...exactly what the team needs. Shuck is a perfect 4th OFer...let him be that.
  2. Bump to .387 .466 1.046 DL Poo-holes for a month or two Move Trumbo to 1B, Trout to LF, Bourjos to CF and Calhoun/Hamilton alternate between RF/DH 1) Bourjos CF 2) Calhoun RF/DH 3) Trout LF 4) Trumbo 1B 5) Hamilton DH/RF 6) Kendrick 2B 7) Callaspo 3B 8) Aybar SS 9) Ianetta/Conger C
  3. Yeah, this team is going to struggle to reach and maintain .500. I predict DL visits for Pujols and Hamilton in the near future to audition the likes of Calhoun to see what they can offer for the 2014 team.
  4. I'd like Erick better on another team...hopefully he's trade bait at the deadline
  5. .282 OBP for 2013 and .318 for his career. This is who you want to get the most AB's on your team
  6. It spreads the Blanton losses to every 6th game...
  7. Exactly...Jerome is a 5 starter; Blanton is a 5 starter at SLC
  8. Is this a trick question? Which Angels fan would be upset if Blanton pitches a shutout? It's like asking "If Blanton goes undefeated the rest of the season, would you be upset?". Yes, of course I'd be upset...(cough)
  9. Haha...Oh, Mike. Got to stick with the shitty, expensive vet instead of going with who's actually producing quality starts. I'm sure the vote of confidence will magically transform Blanton into a pitcher whom misses bats and isn't completely awful.
  10. Wilson is a $15 mil 4 starter...meaning that if you were in the playoffs, you would hope that you were up 3-0 in the series and Wilson was starting at home.
  11. The team had a 8-game winning streak and was still under .500...this game was just another in a string of bad performances.
  12. Safe or out, E-Bar is a wonder. He's a player that seems to exist in a vacuum in that he hasn't develop at all since he's come up. Same stupid base-running, same mental midget fielding errors, same hacking batting style...and we have him for 4 more seasons. Yippee
  13. Corbin is going to be the new Edmonds in terms of the "what is this ex-Angel doing now" thread
  14. Riiigghhhttt...just passionate about baseball...no vested interest...got it
  15. We apparently attract psychics to the forum as well...interesting The fact you even came to this forum, registered, and felt the need to post in a thread not directed at Rangers fans speaks volumes about your insecurities, Up to this point in their playoff existence, the Rangers are best known for choking when the pressure was on.
  16. It could also go that way as well but teams respond differently when their back is against the wall. It looks like Ethier and Kemp are both at odds with Mattingly and they are far from playing like a team; the clubhouse seems toxic. In contrast, the Angels don't seem to have the same internal dissension and their main problem was injury and under-performing players. The parallels are there but I think Mattingly is going to have a tougher time of it than Scioscia.
  17. We've won 8th straight, we don't get Kershaw, and, if the Dodgers don't come back today, they will 4-6 in their last 10. Time to push closer to .500 at the Doggies expense
  18. This...sign a long term deal and get them to drop that last bit. The side benefit is that Dodgers fans/management will lose their mind.
  19. I think Miley for Bourjos would be a good deal for the Angels as Miley is a solid Lefty SP but I think asking for Delgado as well would be too much. Looking at Eaton, he looks to be a pretty solid prospect though so I don't why the D-Backs would be interested unless Eaton is an absolute hack in the field...the guy has a .348/.448/.946 lifetime slash line with 30 SB speed.
  20. If the Angels can get some team's cost effective 2-ish starter, I'd definitely give up Bourjos...can't think of a MLB that would actually do that but I guess it's possible.
  21. Why would you trade an elite defensive CF who is near league minimum in salary and is capable of a .750 OPS and offer as his replacement two guys who have never done anything in the MLB and are nothing special in field? Not getting the logic here...
  22. When Bourjos is activated in a few weeks, where will he play?
