  1. I've never actually thought with my heart...how do you do that?
  2. Let's play "Tradable" and "Un-tradable": Ianetta: Cheap and will be attractive to a GM who values OBP and SLG over AVG...won't bring back much in return Conger: Young and has some pop...will have to packaged with someone to bring back something worthwhile Pujols: Here to stay Kendrick: Relatively cheap and his value has never been higher but the Angels have no replacement in the minors. Would bring back some solid players though. Aybar: Plays at a premium position, has a reputation as a gold glove SS, has speed and pop. His price-tag is low so he could bring back something interesting Callaspo: Will have value as a 2B someplace but is middle of the pack in terms of production Trumbo: Tons of value but he's a building block for the future. He'll have to bring back top of the rotation SP to make it worth it. Trout: Once in a generation player and about as un-tradable as it gets Bourjos: See Trumbo Hamilton: Yeah, you wish Weaver: Has value but has a no trade clause...can't see it happening Wilson: Same as Weaver but probably more agreeable to leave to a contender. Hanson: Not much there Blanton: Hahahaha Williams: Solid pitcher all around and cheap...could be moved in a package with other players Richards: Still has promise...Will have to bring back something solid to move him
  3. well, all options that don't include Pujols and Hamilton since no one would be crazy enough to trade for them
  4. Haren threw harder then Jered but had zero movement on his fastball. Haren issue is he can't throw his splitter effectively anymore and batters are laying off it now when it used to be his out pitch. They are not really the same pitcher
  5. Okay, who can argue with FIPS, I guess...I just know he had two of his best seasons in 2011 and 2012 when he is supposedly declining. To me, he pitches to contact, relies on his defense and is developing into more of a pitcher. I could be wrong but I'll let him get back into a groove before declaring judgement.
  6. Yep...Waaayyy down Or maybe it's about mechanics and location considering both pitches that were hit out were mistakes up in the zone. I'll look at a few more starts before declaring him "stick-a-fork-in-him" done
  7. I'm sorry but I see these threads all the time on this board. A player struggles to find some consistency after being out for 2 months and suddenly he's done...and Mike Trout is fat and can't hit because he's playing LF instead of CF....and Frieri is done as a closer....and Howie is a unclutch loser...and Bourjos is mediocre...
  8. He routinely sat at 88 last season...I'll let him pitch a few more games before writing him off.
  9. Hmm...What did he do since signing his extension? Ah, that's right, he went 20-5 2.81 ERA 1.02 WHIP .214 BAA... All while barely touching 90 in most of his starts...because he pitches instead of throws
  10. In regards to "Use Your Illusion", there are probably 8 total songs I'll even listen to between the two CDs (Civil War, Garden of Eden, Coma, Estranged, Perfect Crime, You Could Be Mine, Pretty Tied Up, Locomotive). There is a shit-load of filler between the two of them, especially the covers.
  11. I guess Mike likes the sample size of Aybar vs King Felix... I prefer the huge sample size of Aybar being a terrible lead-off hitter his entire career.

...and they can pay $500 for the privilege of being Microsoft's data/demographic source. When they drop the Kinect, I'll probably buy it but, unitl then, I'll spend $100 less for the same features.
  13. Saunders is "meh"...had one very good season in 2008 and nothing much after that. Wouldn't sign him to anything more than a minor league deal if he was available.

Still need to lose the KINNECT function before I'll buy it. If they really want to compete with the PS4, remove KINNECT, sell it as an optional peripheral, add a game to the bundle and charge $399.
  15. Dumb but predictable on Scioscia's part...like a runner getting thrown out at home on the contact play
  16. Need to insert that guy from "Half-Baked" - "Boo that Man!"
  17. or: 2011: 837 OPS 2012: .762 OPS 2013: .783 OPS Would be nice to see him push it over .800 by July 1st

Mobile gaming has a market but it's limited. It takes advantage of of people with impulse issues so it's a sure money-maker in terms of micro-transactions but, like was pointed out before, people are going to want to watch everything they do in HD or 3D and it's just not that impressive on a mobile screen. Not to mention you are not going to want to play 50-100 hours of a Skyrim-like game on a phone. This season's launch will probably be the last great big battle of the console wars between Microsoft and Sony, though, as this generations console life will probably be around 8-10 years and then we are looking at a whole new ballgame. The problem with XBox One is the ones that will shell out $500 for a console are gamers who will not care about Kinnect functionality, won't want to always be connected to the internet, and will want to play used games instead of spending $60 everytime they want to try something new. Non-gamers who have an interest in XBox One's connectivity and cloud functions have cheaper options in which to accomplish this on the market already. PS4 gives gamers everything they want without being invasive. Microsoft needs to swallow their pride and come out with a $399 version of XBox One without Kinnect to rival PS4 instead of that BS answer of just "buy the 360". I have bought all generations of PS and XBox, and I spend the majority of my time on the XBox 360, but I will not buy the XBox One in it's current form.
  19. Yes...Damn you, Arte, for spending money and trying to win! (Shakes fist at the sky)
