  1. what about Will Smith? Think he could be in a Keuchel type situation too.
  2. totally agree. That kind of money for a guy that only plays once every 5, 6 or even 7 days as in the Angles case with Ohtani? No way! Pitchers can break easier too.
  3. Agree. Gutsy player, wish we had more like him. He'll get signed and continue his career.
  4. Great! now we have enough money to sign Gerrit for 3, 4 weeks!
  5. Joe Maddon says no! Maddon likes his Fletcher. Like he liked his Zobrist.
  6. Like you've pointed out, I think we match up well with the Cubs. Give them some salary relieve and we can pick up some pieces to our puzzle.
  7. Plus, Cubs No 1 prospect is a catcher. Contreras could be expendable 1. Miguel Amaya, catcher Amaya, ranked as the Cubs’ top prospect by MLB Pipeline, has also made the cut on a few overall top 100 prospect lists: No. 94 on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospects. No. 91 on Keith Law’s (ESPN) list of top 100 prospects No. 89 on John Sickels’ (The Athletic) list of top 100 prospects No. 73 on Fangraphs' list of Top 100 prospects Amaya just missed the cut on the Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus' lists. He’s MLB Pipeline’s seventh ranked catching prospect and he’s the youngest receiver of the catching top 10 (he turns 20 on March 9).
  8. Who's pulling the strings for the Pirates? they don't even have a GM, right? maybe everyone is being sold for cash considerations?!?!?!
  9. Yep! in two years we will have the Pujols money off the books too and one more year of Upton. Simmons be here at least one year, have a stop gap guy at short for a year and then if really interested, go after Lindor when he's a FA
  10. Maybe we should all sign a nice card asking him to come here. LOL! His wife is from Pleasanton. Yes, up by Frisco, but she is a california girl! that should eliminate any east coast teams
  11. I think Upton will have a bounce back season. Not ready to give up on him. anyways, we have Maddon and he'll fix what is broken with J-Up!
  12. Arte, nothing more fun than spending money on baseball players and blowing by your budget! Go Get'em and lets have some fun!
  13. If I was Joe, I would have said "I opened a restaurant, why?"
  14. Astros in 6. Pulling for Howie and the Nats. Starting pitching slight edge Nats, but think Astros have the better position players top to bottom
  15. I saw another article on MLBTR about Tavares not hiring Anderson, since he had trouble bringing a spoon to his mouth. Anderson was 62 at the time I'm 62 and suffer from Kinetic tremors, brought on my peripheral neuropathy. it sucks at times and is embarrassing, but I get through it. I was a part time cartoonist at one time, but the tremors will not allow be to draw like I did at one time. Not sure how tremors would affect ones ability to manage a baseball team though.
  16. Totally agree, Like I said in another post, "I would imagine Arte made some promises to Maddon on what the goals are. Arte wants to put the Skaggs death and all with it behind him. Look for Arte to make some big hits this off season. He`ll be all in on Cole and a few others" Make the Angels great again!
  17. I would imagine Arte made some promises to Maddon on what the goals are. Arte wants to put the Skaggs death and all with it behind him. Look for Arte to make some big hits this off season. He`ll be all in on Cole and a few others. Can we really count on Ohtani to be the pitchers he was two years ago? Hell no. If he is its gravey. I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Adell, knowing Marsh is playing above expentations at his age. Lots of options and agree with Maddon that Fletcher is a star yet to be born.
  18. Yes sir! he'll make Trout a better hitter! LOL! that's what he told me at the bar down on 4th street
