  1. The thought of hating Piano Man never entered my mind.
  2. Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears
  3. Haha, thanks for the love, but no I won't be there this year. I certainly don't think I would attain special guest status if I went!
  4. Well, I was more talking about how he doesn't care if he has a lack of power from his clean up hitter.
  5. He is somehow managing to not use modern statistical analysis or "old-school manager" thinking as he explains his thought process here.
  6. Belisle's in Garden Grove.., mostly what I remember is the massive portions. Went there after a game when I was a kid and saw Bobby Grich there.
  7. I would go with no. I can't imagine a good hitter not being a good hitter because he is on a bench in between innings instead of on the field. If you don't have the metal fortitude to stay focused as a DH, you probably would have been exposed long before you made it to the big leagues.
  8. I think that the "can Rendon stay healthy" question needs one of those pie charts that says "No" and "also no, but in a different color."
  9. A documentary, not a movie, but finally watched The Battered Batards of Baseball on Netflix, I really enjoyed that one.
  10. Well, if a 7th Day Adventist is working on Saturday and going to church on Sunday, clearly his back pain was punishment from God.
  11. I have used Chiropractors off and on for some specific problems and they have helped. But yes, there is undeniably psuedo-science involved. The one I liked when it was covered by my insurance would do his spinal manipulation thing, but then the TENS unit and a 15 minute massage. The benefits were probably more about the relaxation and massage, but my back did great. I had another one that seemed more like he fancied himself a health guru, and I would hear him give some dubious medical advice to keep people from going to actual doctors. Of course, I have a lot of issues with modern medical practice.., take pills with massive side-effects, but God-forbid you address any underlying causes! So basically, I guess I don't have faith in much of the stuff going on out there!
  12. Yeah, I really thought he was going to be a viable alternative, conservative policy's without the toxic narcissism, and a veteran to boot. His lackluster campaign and the side-show fight with Disney really knocked him down a peg.
  13. You think DeSantis does that? I'm not saying he won't, but he can lick his wounds, bide his time as governor of a red state and try again in 4 years. Vivek and Haley seem more likely to me to lose their dignity hoping for being transportation secretary or some other useless ego-feeding political appointment.
  14. Wow, what a thing to go through. I can't even imagine.
  15. Belfast is one of the parts that I missed since I mostly went south. I definitely want to go back and see the many things I missed. I agree with your statement that you can't go wrong in Ireland, beautiful country.
  16. Good to be back.., I think. Come for the Angels info, stay for the trolling and hateful comments., err, I mean passion.
  17. Like most people said, it was more of an interview about him as a person and not a baseball-heavy talk. As Stradling said, if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt, he comes off as a genuine nice guy, who tries to stay humble and is trying to use his faith to guide his life. If you think he is a horrible person, then I guess that's what you will hear. For my part, as a Angel fan and a human being, hope he bounces back and finds some health and success! Quick notes: His off-season is consumed by his 4 kids and they are making him realize how fast life is travelling by. He's a WW2 history buff and enjoyed the recent Netflix documentary. (Reminded me, I need to check that one out!) Talked about how he got into hunting and why he enjoyed it. Got into it in college and enjoyed the comradery, and also the focus and "quiet time" aspect of it. Feeling ready for the season, trying to focus workout program on dealing with the wear and tear of so many years of baseball on his body. Thinks the key to winning over the course of the season like he had in 2019 is having an incredible team chemistry to help carry you through the inevitable ups and downs of a season. Enjoyed his time with Dusty Baker and his approach and honesty. Excited to play for Washington, has met and had conversations with him before, but has only talked to him on the phone since he was signed as manager. When asked, stated he definitely did not think Ohtani was coming back to the Angels. Asked if he could be appointed commissioner and change one thing about MLB, it would be the length of the season. The rest of the interview he was asked about his faith and his journey and he talked about that, and the teammates who helped him on his journey.
  18. I remember where I was I learned the Challenger exploded, I don't have that same memory of remembering the moment I found out Columbia exploded. Oh sorry, I was posting about the topic.., you can go back to talking about poop and autism now.
  19. What could possibly go wrong with that plan?
  20. That's definitely a new one to me as well. Any idea why that happened, or just a defective battery?
  21. Yeah, I skipped that one when I went!
  22. I'm not an expert, but did vacation there a few years back. Not to dump on your plans, but staying in Dublin the whole trip is exactly the opposite of what I would recommend. We booked 3 days in Dublin and by day 3 I was looking for somewhere else to go, so we booked a day trip to the Wicklow Mountains, which I did enjoy. On the west coast of Ireland is what they call the Wild Atlantic Way and was definitely the most impressive scenery. We really enjoyed Dingle, and a driving around what they call The Dingle Loop. (I would definitely recommend that one over the much longer, and I thought less impressive Ring of Kerry Loop.) After coming up from Dingle, we stayed in Galway, which is the 2nd largest city, not a lot to see in the city outside of an impressive pub/music scene, but it is a good launching off point. Unfortunately, when we went to Cliffs of Moher it was completely fogged in, so missed out on that. We did spend a day in the Connemara region, which was also quite drivable from Galway and I loved that drive and scenery. If you do the Jameson tour, try to do the one in Midleton, which is the actual distillery, I had read the one in Dublin was more of a touristy thing. There is a distillery in Dublin, Teeling whiskey, so I would tour that one instead. We enjoyed that. We did the Guiness Tour as well, I enjoyed that. So we did basically a loop to the south, we stayed in Dublin a few days, then kind of looped through Cork, Killarney (we opted for a smaller coastal town named Kenmare, which I liked), Dingle, then Galway. I believe it was about a 4 hr drive back from Galway to Dublin, stayed the night then flew out the next day. It was about as much as we could hope to see on a 10 day trip, which means basically 8 days with a travel day in and out. The locals were full of suggestions, which is awesome, they love their beautiful country, but I was convinced there weren't really any bad choices, I wasn't let down by any area. I was just limited by time. Driving was pretty insane there, not because you are on the wrong side of the road, which you are, but you get used to it quickly.., its insane because off the major highways the roads are insanely small and hilly and winding and they still put a 100 KPH (60 MPH)speed limit on it. I couldn't drive over 35 on some of those roads and was just like.., "well, the local can pass me because I think they are crazy driving that fast!"
