I read it as Gene having an amazing year working in the organization.

Easy: Ohtani, Stroman, Buehler, Burnes, and Fried

So this acquisition was perhaps my favorite Minasian move to-date. He acquired a guy he knew could pitch more than one inning that was dominant and Maddon applied him appropriately in the 8th and 9th innings as needed. I would be looking for Minasian to do the exact same thing next year and beyond, whether it is re-signing Iglesias or, more likely, identifying the next version of Raisel in FA or trade.

Raisel Iglesias.

This is why fans are generally not good scouts. Adams still has a big ceiling and IP is right he has an injury that impacts one of his greatest assets, his fantastic speed. This is not Jared's take, he borrowed it from a different source, I read this very same thing months ago from another baseball writer. He should have referenced that source or at least mentioned it was not his original thought. To be clear I like Jared I think he provides a lot of useful Angels information, but this didn't originate from him, directly. And in the end, Jordyn does seem to have similar potential skills to Byron, like good OF range (I don't think he is quite as rangy as Buxton), great speed, potential for some decent power, etc., so I agree with AJ that he was probably referring to the similarity. He (Buxton) will have to show it, but his relative baseball inexperience combined with his injury is probably the reason his season suffered so much. I still think the guy could blossom quickly in future seasons, hopefully.

@Angelsjunky I am going to destroy your dirty, glib tongue, now. -

Agree with your first couple of thoughts, but the last one is even more of an analogy that stretches too much, even more so than the one you quoted. -

Not bad, not bad! Although Herget may not, yet, be a key reliever in our 2022 bullpen, he will find a way to Jimmy the lock. -
Angels select Janson Junk, release Jose Iglesias

It is my, possibly limited, understanding that when a 40-man roster player is optioned down, plays in the Minors, and then they get injured, the team can choose to place them on the Major League IL or the Minor League IL, at their discretion. As Jeff pointed out if they decide to utilize the Major League IL, then the player gets Major League pay and service time. If they are on the Minor League IL, Major League service time does not accrue, but the player must remain on the 40-man. In the case of Canning, who is at 1.153 years (1 year, 153 days) of Major League service time, the Halos front office appears to be favoring the suppression of his service time, so that he does not exceed 2 years of Major League service time, thus retaining the extra year of control over him. Note that Ward is at 1.065 years (1 year, 65 days), for reference. Also, Sandoval is at 0.167 years (167 days). -
AngelsWin Today: The Power of Shohei Ohtani

Nice to see the international fan overlap, here, it is great to see! Ohtani is just so good to watch play at the Major League level and his personality and demeanor is fantastic, a lightning rod for the fan experience! -
Angels’ #1 target must be Max Scherzer

Wow I really thought IP was much younger than that. -
Other than fans losing out seeing him play, this is fine with me in a non-playoff season. Lose more games! MOAR!

If Lou calms Brandon's bat down, we should give them a nickname like "Bennifer".... Marsh-MalLou?

He was out of options and the Angels future is Adell in RF. Could they have kept him in a 4th OF role? Maybe. Guys like Michael, without options remaining, get dropped all the time League-wide. He has tools, for sure, and I hope he makes the best of them in Chicago, but the timing and roster composition did not work in his favor in 2020.
