  1. It is bunk. I probably should have worded that more eloquently but I was most specifically refering to iOS and was pretty clearly not referring to what they've done in the past decade+.. They've obviously revolutionized a lot, but they've been lazy (perhaps intentionally so) when it comes to evolving iOS, most specifically on the phone side of things. Perhaps that choice is what is best for sales, loyalty and obviously continuity. iOS is incredibly stale, IMO. The current iOS isn't all that dissimilar to what they had in place six years ago. It's boring as hell, but they sell crap tons of it, so they obviously shouldn't mess with what works if it affects their bottom line.
  2. I take it all back, guys. I'm really concerned given the stats thus far, but there are some silver linings. Although it's fairly clear that we're going to struggle to win more than sixty games over the course of the season, it's pretty clear that Jason Vargas will win the Cy Young and Matt Young will take the batting title, smashing the all time high regular season BA mark. Don't get down, guys. Those two players are sure to put some smiles on our faces.
  3. That's reasonable, but "feel" isn't that important to me in that sense. I want how I access the stuff on my device to reflect my preferences more than anything else, and I haaaaate how confined I feel using iOS. It feels like I'm using an iteration of my IPod with the touch wheel. I don't want that. The freedom to use other launchers is great, not because I want to change my experience all the time, but because if somebody comes up with a better way of doing things than say Google or Samsung for my purposes, I want to be able to use it. ... and people are coming up with better stuff all the time.
  4. iOS is stable, but incredibly boring. Seriously, Apple has settled into a nice pattern of doing nothing revolutionary or incredibly innovative. It speaks to the excellence of the product that they developed, but they're not exactly wowing anybody that's used other devices.
  5. Only the weak minded will let them derail reason. The ONLY reason to be slightly concerned at this point is for that of SP depth should there be injuries.
  6. ...and you'll have to excuse me for not getting slightly concerned when not a single one of our projected everyday position players has more than 15 ABs and none of our projected starters has more than 2 IP. Now we may go on to have a rough year as anything is possible, but to be remotely concerned at this point based on what has happened is merely letting the ghosts of the past get inside your head. That's silly. Use your heads.

  8. Sark, Kiffin and Tedford were the highest paid coaches last year. Insane.
  9. Seems great and in line with the rest of the Pac12/CFB world, unlike somebody else's contract was (cough, cough). If we assume the buyout for JT was covered by donations, it's pretty much a zero sum game assuming a bump in assisstant pay. Hopefully assisstant pay is a bit better than before. I imagine that Franklin will be well compensated.
  10. I really want to get around to House of Cards. I have to catch up on Walking Dead and burn through Game of Thrones first, though.
  11. Are there any programs like Juice Defender for iOS? If there's anything like that, it's definitely worth a shot.
  12. I'm so sorry to read this. He was absolutely beautiful. It's no fun to lose a family member like that. You have my condolences.
  13. If Cal beats Stanford and both UCLA and Oregon lose a game, Cal wins the conference. I think that Oregon will beat Colorado (we destroyed them today), but it's nice to be in it considering how the season started off. Monty is a hell of a coach.

  15. I just looked it up: Scout had the class ranked at 31.
  16. It was alright and probably better than would have been expected given the state of the program. They loaded up on quantity in areas that they felt we were deficient in. I'm excited to see what Dykes and Franklin can do with the offense.
  17. This is pretty cool. Good call, Nate. That's fascinating.
  18. I'm going to give it a shot right now. One second...
  19. You need a tutorial on the go screw yourself, pal option of the new forum. ...but yeah, I'll start using that.
