  1. I was reading an article yesterday (about cricket) and thought, 'ooh, Lou would like th... Oh'. I miss my cricket buddy, today.
  2. Hey, @PattyD22, Lou got me into CFB over the past couple of years, we used to PM during games too. I had my first big Bruins almost-but-not-quite season last year. I'll be cheering for them again this year. Feel free to PM me on game days, mate. You can call me a dumbass when I talk nonsense, too.
  3. Oh, we can beat that, half of our hotel industry is truly abysmal. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186402-d191979-Reviews-Britannia_Hotel_Birmingham-Birmingham_West_Midlands_England.html#REVIEWS
  4. I'm so like this. Much more concerned with how the guys here at AW are doing than the Angels play-off chances. Ohtani leaving? Pffft. So what?
  5. Oh, bloody hell. Why does it always have to be the good ones? So sorry for those of you who knew Brandon well. I liked his posts and his takes, he was a funny guy, and he was clearly a genuinely good person who was there for a lot of people. A top, top bloke as we would say over here. But too, too young. Just tragic. My deepest sympathies to his family and those close to Brandon. I can't imagine the sense of loss and shock you must be feeling.
  6. As a pre-sign-up lurker, I always appreciated Lou’s acerbic wit and uncanny ability to cut through the crap with a one-liner that hit the nail on the head. He’s given me many a laugh out loud moment with one of his thread stoppers. And I’m lucky enough to say, I’ve also come to know Lou the man over the past two and a half years, too. You wouldn’t believe the journey he has just been through. You could make a six part TV series just to cover the last month, (which would have to be British or Scandinavian made, to be genuinely Lou). Time and again I’ve been sat here shaking my head at the latest knuckleball to the nuts he’s had to take. And I can honestly say, I have been genuinely humbled and inspired on a regular basis by the unwavering dignity, generosity, honesty, and sheer strength of character Lou has shown throughout it all. Without ever losing that legendary wit and sense of humour. But then that’s just who he is. Lou is as fine and honourable a man as you are ever likely to know. A true gentleman, and a top, top bloke who I’m proud to call a friend. Lou, of course, would disagree and call me a dumbass.
  7. Thoughts? Yes, a couple spring immediately to mind: 1. Anyone who thinks that was a full and accurate representation of all that he said is a half-wit. 2. If you spent more time bettering yourself and concentrating on gaining a decent career and less time trying to agitate here on AW, you might be able to afford a decent house.
  8. Hmm, C-. It needs a completely unrelated financial reference and an impossible personal insight to be truly convincing.
  9. Fish on a pizza is just wrong. So, so wrong.
  10. Ah, well, you see they were built for those nice couple of weeks we have in June, or sometimes May. As for the pneumonia, we tend to wear 'beer coats' for that...
  11. Oh, yes, I did. We are most certainly not sunny or warm in October. Think, 'ship in a storm', and you'd be pretty close for most of it.
  12. Apart from the $20m posting fee.
