Good to see this team starting to play well. This series was a huge blow to the Twins-especially last night as they fall I think 2.5 behind Cleveland for the AL Central. Certainly I'm feeling better about the pitching staff going forward-if Davidson can be a formidable pitcher like he was today they could have a strong starting staff next year. I'll always wonder where the 2022 team would have been had they not lost 14 straight and nosedived. If they would have just treaded water and done anything but went in a complete freefall, they might be right in the mix. But pretty cool to see them take 2 of 3 from MN. Now hopefully they can take 2 of 3 from Seattle and start knocking them out. I want that Seattle playoff drought to go on forever lol

I really wonder if things had gone any different if they hadn't lost that Phillies game with 2 outs in the 9th. It seemed to me that when they lost that Sunday slugfest to Toronto to get swept in 4 games it was the start of something bad but one hoped it was just gonna be a temporary bad stretch. Then the game where the Phillies came back and won on that Sunday game (I think we all know which one) it just felt like this season was completely lost. To me as a fan that Phillies game was the one that really sunk the season.

The 2019 team was my least favorite Angels team in recent memory of mine but this year is catching up. The first month and half were looking promising and I had hopes Minasian knew what he was doing. But right now he looks like a chicken with his head cut and not knowing how to stop the bleeding. Bringing in Jonathan Villar is just a slap in the face. He got released by the Cub and he's a flat out loser. Teams like the Orioles put Villar out there everyday so they could tank for a high draft pick like they did with this piece of shit 3 years ago. If anything thinks he's going to help this shitshow I have some ocean property here in Denver to sell you. I've checked out of this team probably since the Phillies loss a month ago, but I appreciate this board gives me a sympathy group of sorts. I haven't worn any Angels gear in months and I'm just flat out embarrassed by the team right now and don't even have a clue where this goes from here after this nightmare of 2022 ends.

Lol just fuck Loup -
I don't live in Orange County but I really hope people stop showing up. At this point these guys look like they don't care at all and don't deserve any support. This will be the 3rd time they've been shut out in a week or 4th? Don't feel like looking it up right now. But I hope the fans stop showing up to support these asshats.

Gameday Thread (6/8/22): Red Sox @ Angels - No Trout

Didn't know that about Stefanic. Must have been recently as I checked Sunday night and he was active. At this point no one is unbenchable to me. I just want to see guys who want to play. All Walsh and Ohtani do is swing and miss on every pitch anyway. Who knew in 3 weeks I would grow to hate this team so much. Just fuck this team. -

For God's sakes call up Stefanic and Mackinnon and DFA Velasquez and Rengifo. Get some new blood in there the season is toast. I took down my Mike Trout posters just now that I've had up for years because I'm sick of looking at posters of a player who is already a shadow of what he used to be (at least as far as health goes). Blow it up and move on to a serious rebuild so we don't have the "make the playoffs for Mike Trout" albatross around our necks anymore. Honestly I'm not sure we would be worse off with not having that hanging over our heads to make the playoffs for Trout. -
Call me crazy but I still have more confidence in Minasian as a GM than I ever did with Eppler. While the bullpen has been awful the last 3 weeks the signings of Tepera, Loup and Bradley on paper should have improved this bullpen. Key word should. None of them are executing at all but statistically it should have improved our 7th and 8th innings a lot from last year. Will they get it going again? Who knows. I hope so. But throw in also that Minasian got Iglesias for Noe Ramirez basically I can't fault Perry for trying. Eppler didn't even try on the bullpen. It seems like the last 2 years all he did was pick up guys on the waiver wire and call it good (i.e. Noe Ramirez, Mike Mayers, Hansel Robles, Felix Pena among many others). I know this isn't a Minasian vs Eppler thread but if Eppler got 5 years for the horrible job he did then Minasian shouldn't get fired after 2 seasons in my opinion.
