  1. Randazzo just said the Angels are leading the AL in runs in June. That must be 98 percent because of Saturday lol.
  2. I can't believe I'm saying this but man it feels like this team has wasted a lot of great pitching outings this year. This offense is incredibly frustrating.
  3. As bad as the Rockies are they can't be overlooked too much when they're at home. Even during their worst years they can be a handful and pull games out of their ass at home. It's when you lose a series to them at your own ballpark you should worry. They don't even try when they're away from Coors lol. This series is shitty but I'm not sure I'm taking it too hard, as I know from living in CO the Rockies can be a thorn in the side when they play at Coors Field. Angels need to come home and rebound and at least take 3 of 4 from a bad White Sox team.
  4. I went last night and obviously had a blast but am glad I quit while I was ahead and didn't go today. I said to a couple other Angels fans last night it would be the most Angels thing ever to come out and lose the next day after scoring 25 runs lol
  5. All I've heard about on my twitter feed this last week was how bad Alex Vesia and the Dodgers bullpen is and Vesia just made Trout into a bitch on a 3-2 pitch. The batters should be ashamed of themselves. I have tickets to see them play the Rockies this weekend and at this rate the Rockies may shut them out.
  6. Wow great job by Jacob Webb to close that heart attack out! In years past we would have given up a grand slam to Lowe after getting 2 quick outs haha. Is this team actually... good??
  7. Cannot believe they pulled this one out tonight. They had 9 lives tonight and survived. Some very promising developments with this team this year. Still can't believe Ward made that scoop in extra innings also. On to tomorrow!
  8. Now that the game is tied I'll give Anderson some credit. Not saying he pitched well or is good but he did shut the door and kept the game where it was at the last 3 innings so the offense could scratch back. I'll take that. Now hopefully they'll get some more and steal this one!
  9. Good win for the Halos! Moniak is playing like he belongs up in the majors and never wants to sniff Salt Lake again. Gotta love it. Also Bachman looks great tonight. I know it's the Cubs but I'll feel good about these last 2 nights. A year ago at this time we were in the middle of a 14 game losing streak so I'll take this right now lol
  10. So no one on this team has the balls to get a big hit it in a big spot... Bases left loaded then they cough 2 back lol. It's so Angels lol.
  11. Haha just think now if they had given up anything other than a grand slam. Now they'll just lose 7-5 or 7-6. This team does just enough to lose lol
  12. 5 games out of 7 days isn't that unusual for a lot of college programs but 4 is most common sure. You can point to that number of pitchers on a college roster vs MLB roster ok... But if you have a few injuries in NCAA you can't make trades or pick anyone else off of waivers either. My NCAA team is ASU (hence the screen name) and 2 seasons ago they had 3 starting pitchers go down with TJ the same year. That's your whole weekend rotation. And they worked what they did have on their roster to death to get through that season. An MLB team can call up pitchers from the minors or scour the waiver wire for arms but colleges can't. I appreciate your tweets and your Angels updates so I'm not looking to antagonize.. But just pointing out it's great to see traditional extra innings ball still somewhere.
  13. It's D1 baseball Opening Day today and I'm thrilled to see NCAA baseball hasn't been using it in the extra inning games today. Good to see college baseball still knows what's up.
  14. This! I think one of my least favorite things about this runner on 2nd is to me it doesn't have the same feel when your team wins the game to me. If you start the 12th inning with a leadoff walk with normal baseball, then a shot in the gap to score the runner from 1st to walkoff, it was exhilarating as a fan. Now, road team gets scoreless top half of the frame and then the first pitch home team hits a bloop single to win the game and it just feels... meh to me. Anticlimactic. I feel as fans we're being deprived of great moments like the Eckstein hit above or the Pujols 19th inning homerun. Are those games fun to sit through? Not all the time I'll admit. But as a baseball lover it was great to be at those games or have them in the history. I wouldn't have totally hated if they would have started doing this in the 13th inning as a compromise, but as baseball season approaches and I'm getting back on this board thought I would reflect to other baseball fans about this today.
  15. This might be a good thread to ask who all was here for that 19 inning game in 2014? I actually was out in Anaheim on vacation for that series and was there that night. I remember the agony of the Angels kept getting runners on and not getting them in. But now that those games have been taken away what a memory now.
  16. Although I fully realize the players voted for this too as part of the Joint Committee, it seems Manfred pretty much remains undefeated at pissing the majority of the fans right before Spring Training. What a disgrace he's been to baseball.
  17. I watch quite a few Rockies games here in CO and this is a solid pickup for the Angels. He's a good arm and has (knock on wood) been pretty durable from what I remember. In the mini 60 game 2020 season Bud Black pretty much used him everyday. But I'm a fan of this signing. Good arm for the late innings.
  18. I think the part that should be concerning to fans is that with this current arrangement Manfred can make any changes he wants without any player approval. The committee is set up for 6 owners and 4 players. The umpire vote won't matter. In the name of "speeding things up" Manfred could introduce 2 strikes, 2 outs and a limit on foul balls to speed things up. Think that's far fetched? Did anyone think they would see a ghost runner at 2nd in extra innings a decade ago or a limit on pickoffs to first? I absolutely hated the idea of a pitch clock when it was first introduced. I still would rather not have it, but NCAA baseball put it in in 2020 and I'll admit for the most part it doesn't really affect the game that much. However, with that being said, there was one college game I watched where the batter got confused and stepped out of the box and the umpire in a moment of power called a strike on the batter and that was the 3rd strike and ended the inning. Having that clock affect the outcome like that is wrong imo and not baseball. Can you imagine Angel Hernandez with this power? I hope I'm wrong, but I feel there are going to be some challenges with a pitch clock at the major leagues opposed to NCAA or the minors. Different kind of fans go to NCAA games vs MLB. Plus with HD tv and multiple camera angles, is the clock going to be overanalyzed by the announcers and opposing managers who feel the pitcher didn't get set in time? While today's changes may not seem like a big deal today, it's future ideas of this fucking idiot Manfred that worry me. As Manfred is a soulless asshole in a suit that hates baseball and really does not understand it at all from what I can tell from his unfortunate time in office. Just an out of touch prick and soulless slime.
  19. OMFG this is what the 5th time in the last 7 years they've opened in Oakland? Angels were supposed to open this year in that hellhole too I think if it wasn't for the lockout. Ridiculous.
  20. Wow. This article really goes back a long ways to describe the dysfunction in this organization. I'm surprised to see Chris Ianetta as the former player quoted in that tweet. I would make a crack about him being a .220 hitting catcher- who if memory served me would hit like 5 homeruns in a week then ground out constantly for 3 weeks. But I would take Ianetta back in his playing days over Stassi right now lol. Maybe he can have a front office job with the new ownership. He hit it on the head though about the starting pitching. This team is always trying to find 1 year stopgaps with the pitching. Trevor Cahill, Syndergaard, Lorenzen, Matt Harvey, Julio Teheran and many other disasters I'm sure I'm forgetting etc.. Even though they missed the playoffs, I actually enjoyed some parts of 2015. it was the last respectable team we had imo. Since 2016 being a fan of this team has been an absolute disaster. Here's to hopefully major- and I mean major changes coming this way.
  21. I do too but I'm almost inclined to keep Seattle as the only MLB team to not make a World Series appearance lol. I'm still hoping for a September collapse from them to keep 2001 alive.
  22. I'll be boycotting this year's playoffs out of spite but I think I actually found a team I would pull for Houston to beat. I hate Seattle.
  23. Yup and I groaned in disgust when no one claimed him and he went back to Salt Lake. He's the gift that keeps on giving.
