I’m just baffled that  Eppler is just going to let this season go down the drain without even attempting to fix the bullpen.

Wtf is he doing? Thanks for everything you else you have done for the organization but what the F*ck

This is where we’re at right now. I don’t think Arte is prepared to take on another teams salary dump.

I have a friend that has had season seats at Anaheim for a couple of decades and the last five years he's had to sell off close to half of them because he can't afford the seats anymore. And as you said some of those games are a tough sell. When you add in $10.00 or $8.00 or whatever for a f'n Coke it gets to where I feel that I'm being ripped-off. I had access to the Diamond club at one time and it was $50.00 a plate!!!!!!!! Who are they trying to kid? $50.00 for some potato salad and piece of chicken? Take your wife and two kids to that. lol No more.

I tried to sell tickets for 15 games after the ASB on several secondary markets for half the face value and sold only two games. The tickets were awesome but the product on the field definitely factored into their depreciation.

I think you nailed it here in this response -- Sports are more and more about entertainment value.

If a person doesn't find something entertaining they are best off taking their business elsewhere, it's the only intelligent thing to do.  There is likewise something to be said for not ruining the experience for those who still enjoy the team.

When I’m at Angels stadium I’m a very quiet fan. I don’t yell and scream or boo players, coaches or umpires. I have my Angels gear on and mind my business.

The average cost of going to an Angels game in 2012 (after AP) was 159.00 (5th lowest) an 8.4% increase from 2011.  Today it's 194.02 (7th lowest) about $40.00 below the league average.  https://www.statista.com/statistics/202611/fan-cost-index-of-the-major-league-baseball/   I've said this before but given the relative cost cost of living in the area and the team's payroll they are one of baseballs biggest bargains...

Beyond that - when compared to the other big sports, MLB is far and away the biggest bargain in general..   https://public.tableau.com/profile/russell.scibetti#!/vizhome/FanCostIndexAcrossProfessionalSports/ByLeague

No doubt the Angels are cheaper but I just enjoy redirecting my baseball entertainment budget to traveling and visiting different ballparks rather than watching the same sunken ship every August and September.

  5. Baseball games are way too expensive for the average family man. Every time I read that we need to pay Mike Trout 10 years $400M I cringe.

I used to attend tons of games but not anymore. Pujols and Hamilton really changed the way I follow baseball. I saved my season ticket money to travel to other ballparks every season. Last season was Boston and New York. This season Philadelphia and Baltimore.

    Here's my hope:

Ohtani is fully healthy in 2020, and the bullpen is fixed by then.  Calhoun is replaced in RF in the 2020 season.  It will be a contract year for Cozart.  2020 can be a deep playoff run.

Maybe Trout will see that Cozart, Pujols, and Upton will all be off the books soon, and the Angels can afford to pay him a huge contract, and still have a great team for the next decade with all of the great prospects coming up.

I think that scenario is what we all hope for but we need a lot to go right the next season and a half. If we continue to have a bunch of injuries, bullpen meltdowns and we are still chasing a second wild card we’re in trouble.
