I picked Scheffler at the beginning so I’m going to stick with him, and his lukewarm putter.
I will be rooting hard for Rickie though. I was at San Juan Hills Golf Club yesterday and the entire clubhouse was going crazy for Fowler yesterday. I’d love to see him break through and win, but Rory is lurking.
I’ve shared my story before, but like Strad, I lost my father to cancer 5 years ago. He was a diehard Angels fan and season ticket holder for over 20 years. We continue to honor his memory by keeping the season ticket tradition alive with my son and his family now. Not a Fathers Day goes by (or any day for that matter) that I don’t think of him.
Happy Fathers Day to the entire AW family.
Schauffele with an absolute nightmare start. He is a 36 foot, par saving putt on #2 from starting his round 3 over.
He needs to get his head together or he’s going to get steamrollered today.
Today’s pin placement on the 15th hole has the hole playing 81 yards. 81 yards in a major tournament is crazy.
Unlike the 7th hole at Pebble Beach, which can play anywhere from 95 yards to 120 yards, the wind can make that hole so crazy and absolutely gorgeous.
No wind at LACC today so 81 yards should be pretty interesting. Never seen a hole play that short in a tournament ever.
He’s playing lights out right now. I’m really pulling for Rickie this week.
As an aside, your boy Morales really played well today @Lou. The kid has game
Justin Rose is a solid pick @Lou. This course sets up for a guy like him.
I picked Adam Scott for that very reason. Great iron players, good short game, and solid putters.
2 out walk, bloop hit leads to a run, walk the next guy…..64 pitches thru 2 2/3’s
This. Andrew Heaney reminds me of why he was so frustrating as an Angel.
Morikawa is a good pick, but he wasn’t a long shot enough for me. Solid pick for Top 10, though.
DeChambeau, not sold. Too stubborn for this course.
I hate to say this, but Patrick Reed probably would be a good long shot at 80/1.
So who you got this week guys? State your winner, Top 10 lock, and long shot. Here’s mine:
Winner- Scottie Scheffler
Top 10 lock- John Rahm
Long shot- Adam Scott
