  1. My God. That is stunning. And by stunning, I mean completely dogshit. Wow
  2. In just one game, Walsh has almost as many hits as Bour did in 41. I wish that was sarcasm
  3. This type of game was the barometer to see where the Angels really are as a team this year. Yes, the offense is hitting the ball in the series. But there are still issues hitting with RISP. The key hits aren't there against quality pitching. Starting pitching, aside from the first game in the series, has been bad to awful. Again, this is magnified against good teams. Now, we have to factor in horrible in-game management. That was a factor that was magnified last night. Just another thing to worry about. While there are some good things to take from this series, the reality is this series picked the scabs and they are bleeding still
  4. Trevor Cahill's ERA is now at 6.75 and about to get higher.
  5. I was watching the game at The Tilted Kilt last night with a few Angel fans, but the sound was off so none of us knew what was going on. We all thought the reason Ausmus didn't challenge was because he was out of challenges. I mean this could have been the only answer, right? But nothing, and I mean nothing, prepared us for the pinch hitting move in the 9th. You should have heard the Angel crowd at the Kilt. People were PISSED and rightfully so. It's been roughly 18 hours, and a Bour assignment to AAA, but I'm still pissed. And the more I catch up and read everybody's comments, it's not making me feel any less pissed. Unexcusable managing decision.
  6. Ausmus challenges as much as he uses the Hit and Run. Never
  7. Came in just in time to see Cron make one of the most ridiculous plays I've seen in a while. Too bad the Angels couldn't make that hurt
  8. Wow. It looks like this Astudillo guy likes to eat PBJ's in between innings also, among other snacks. Jeez. Bartolo colon's doppleganger.
  9. I used to think he was just being crossed up because a catcher is never taught to backhand or "stab" at the pitch, which Lucroy does a lot. Now I'm starting to think like you Lou.
  10. Lucroy has got to lead the league in passed balls this year.
  11. It's normal. I watch Calhoun and Trout do it every home game
  12. Leave it to Gubie and Victor to beat this "Tommy Boy" thing right into the ground. Holy crap
  13. I absolutely can't wait to watch this guy play in the bigs. I saw him at spring training, and was bummed when he went down with the injury. Kid is a stud
  14. I don't think that Cozart is that great of a defender, especially at third base. I understand he's normally a SS, but his throws across the diamond leave me chewing my nails. I do understand the thought of keeping him as a potential pinch runner, but he's certainly not a viable candidate for pinch hitting duties. Hell, I was nervous when he came in last night as a late inning defensive replacement. He's basically a dead man walking and it's just a matter of time before he's DFA'd. Cut bait and move on, like you said
  15. I think that's what Ausmus was saying in regards to Simmons and his hitting into so many DP's. As mentioned by another poster, he hits a lot of ground balls and most of them are hit hard, making it easy to turn double plays. As for Skaggs, who knows? His pitch count was high again in the early innings, which has been normal for him the last few years. And by the way, I don't like Marwin Gonzalez either. I won't say I hate him though, but it's close
  16. That is a good win against a quality baseball team. I loved how they went down 2-0 and fought back. Kudos to the bullpen for some great work. Total team effort tonight
  17. Cozart came in as a defensive replacement, so I'm not sure we had a pinch runner available. Unless you're counting Bour as a possibility.
  18. Simmons hits into his league leading 13th double play of the season. That's just crazy
  19. I do too. But, it's a move that makes a manager look like a genius if it works and is second guessed relentlessly if it fails.
