I would like Cole but I don’t think Arte will get him. He’s probably going to get 6/210
They will most likely get someone solid in a trade but it’s going to cost them a solid prospect or two.
Robbie Ray is the next tier that Eppler would probably engage in talks with to keep the cost down.
We need pitching, a catcher and a setup guy. It will be tough to fill all of those holes without spending big money, trading good prospects because we own a couple of very bad contracts.
April: “well it’s still very early and a there’s alot of baseball to play”
May: “well we have a lot of injuries”
June: “well we just don’t have the pitching”
July: trade deadline “well there was nothing out there available that made sense”
Aug & Sept: “well we’re going to sign all of the good free agents this offseason and be championship contenders next season”
Oct: ZZZZZ....
This needs to change.
How the Yankees bought Gio Urshela for just $25k from the Jays is just crazy good luck for Cashman.
Urshela is now a top 5 third baseman in baseball both offensively and defensively.
If we can get 2 starters, 1 solid catcher, 1 solid bullpen arm, find a way to retire Pujols and trade Calhoun we could be in great shape. I’m still concerned about Simmons and Upton who are both showing decline.
There’s probably some truth to this. It will most likely be another year of transition for Ohtani. It kinda seems like we are always waiting for this guy or that guy to come back. But no worries, everything will come together for us when Trout turns 35.
