  1. How about rolling the dice on Alex Wood? He's had back issues and hasn't pitched all year, although he will make his 2019 debut this Sunday. In four rehab starts he has 3.18 ERA, went six innings in his last start. His deal expires this year. If we can get him for a cheap prospect, I would at least listen. If he can pitch close to his career averages it would be better than anything we have. Another arm the Reds have on a one year deal is Tanner Roark who is pitching better(3.95 ERA) than our rotation. Again, if he can be had cheap, I would listen at least. I got the names from this list: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-trade-deadline-ranking-the-50-best-trade-candidates-including-trevor-bauer-and-madison-bumgarner-in-top-10/. Obviously, I would like an arm with control beyond 2020, but the prospect price might be hard to justify especially, if other teams are willing to overpay.
  2. Zoom in. Fletcher looked safe to me. Looks like he had his hand on the corner of the plate before a tag was applied
  3. Well hope whoever they call up from salt lake to manage the pitching can deliver
  4. True. What was embarrassing was they couldn't get one run in against the worst bullpen in the league sooner.
  5. Wow the batters saw hard stuff all night long and the drastic drop off in speed threw off their timing. Can we get a half game in the standings for effort, and FOR GETTING ROBBED BY THE UMP
  6. Wow that’s rough Fletcher at 3rd with one out would have been ideal. But good job tying it up
  7. Nice play Calhoun!! Would be nice to end it now to preserve Canning’s arm
  8. Yeah if true it should. Langston also said they can’t replace his spot on the roster if Ramirez is in NY.
  9. I’m following the game on the radio. Terry Smith speculates Ramirez could be in New York to appeal his suspension for plunking Marisnick
  10. And starting pitching not going long enough. Looks like the fatigue is catching up with the pen
  11. Aren’t a few injured pitching arms nearing returns? A trade still might be needed to add meaningful results but I was wondering how much impact guys like J.C. Ramírez, Nick Tropeano would have.
  12. Spot on. Sports(baseball) and the love of the Angels brought us together here many times to share our stories and opinions of joy and disappointment and today it brought us together to grieve the loss of a fellow human being. Sports may be a significant factor in our lives but today was a reminder that it’s not the most important factor and sometimes we overlook that. For me personally I think I will try to watch the remainder of the season, but whenever it’s suppose to be Skagg’s spot coming up(every fifth day) I will tune out. Thank you for your thoughts and God bless the Skaggs family
  13. This is unbelievably tragic. A good friend of mine broke the news to me and I needed a moment before logging on here. My cousin went to Skagg’s last start, his 1st ball game ever and became an Angels fan that night. RIP Tyler my cousin and I and AW will miss you. Prayers to your family number 45. Angels please retire the jersey
  14. I was surprised they were striking out so many batters at first. Angels finished with more hits than Oakland tonight. They gave up too many home runs all year and have only one shutout victory all year. Nice to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere too
  15. Went to my first game of the season tonight. Although they didn’t win the atmosphere was still pretty good. Too many wild pitches at catcher this season. The pitching isn’t good and better fielding at catching would be a godsend
  16. Nice rally in the ninth, good aggressive base running by Rengifo. I was planning to go to the Sunday game, but the forecast isn’t looking so good right now. How does a rainout work again? In event of rainout can I pick a date to watch a game or do I have to attend the makeup game date the league decides on?
  17. As of right now the teams we are chasing, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Houston and Minnesota all have top 10 fielding stats in all of baseball based on a general fielding search on ESPN. Right now the Halos are 13th. It would be nice to upgrade the fielding a couple ticks to help the sub par pitching out
  18. Maybe since Tim Mead is President of the Hall of Fame now he could make the offer of a lifetime to this guy
  19. I was still optimistic after the Chicago series but watching tonight’s game the team folded after Trout’s home run. That should have pumped up the team but they didn’t build on it. They seem to be tired and unmotivated day in day out
  20. So it’s more of a psychological thing. Thanks for clarifying about save and non save situations
