  1. It's true, most of our pitching doesn't have an "out" pitch, so you just see opposing guys battling till they get something to hit. Our batters don't battle for something to hit. At all. Our guys are free swingers and want to swing. Opposing pitchers know this, so they know they don't have to throw strikes. Our guys maybe watch first pitch strikes right down the pipe, then commit to swinging, and they swing at balls the rest of the at-bat, and therefore we get pussy ground balls and wienie pop ups for quick outs. It's ridiculous.
  2. Its pretty obvious that if our starters get hurt, we're screwed. We have no legitimate back up players. This Jimenez and Romine guy just don't impress me at all.
  3. Why why WHY do i torture myself with this crap.
  4. It's weird because our plan of attack on offense seems so predictable all the time. Other teams actually change things up over the course of the game, or a series, to improve their offense as it goes on. We just do the same bulls**t over and over again.
  5. ^Our Angels just love to keep their bats on their shoulders when they step in the box, watching those fastballs down the pipe for first pitch strikes. It's like they say in little league "never swing at the first pitch." Not to mention, they're so pretty. Ready to throw junk after the best pitch of the at-bat? We're ready to hack!
  6. Why would Dustin Pedroia be doing that with another man?
  7. Well one things for sure, the Angels sure do know how to pick 'em.
  8. Howie Kendrick quickly extinguishing the possibility of a run scoring inning. He should patent that DP swing.
  9. I wouldn't say it's horrific. It's just not very good.
  10. One of my buddies is from Minnesota and he said he's never understood why they didn't put a roof over the new stadium. They didn't have an unlimited budget, but they did a LOT of renovations around the stadium as well (train station, etc.).
  11. I prefer bringing in my Togo's pastrami.
  12. Keep in mind CJ was kinda in the know about the Pujols deal, so I think the idea of a championship caliber ballclub might have also persuaded him to come to the Angels. Hamilton on the other hand looks like he flat out doesn't give a s***.
  13. The thing is, Scioscia shouldn't have to be the only one to rip Hamilton a new one. The players on the team need to step up and tell the guy enough is enough, and that he needs to get his freakin' head out of his ass. Embarrassing.
  14. Stopped reading after "miss Hunter's leadership..." Yeah, that sure was some brilliant leadership the past 2 seasons: helping us make boneheaded outs on the basepaths while not making the playoffs...
  15. AO back in mid-season form, that's for sure.
  16. What do we go in with? Cause whatever it is it ain't working.
  17. LOL like you even know this. It might not have screwed up his swing, but it dicked with his head and approach at the plate.
  18. It's just bad baseball. I'm not even thinking of going to a game until they're a .500 team. Not wasting my time or money.
  19. Josh needs to freaking hit no matter where the hell he is in the lineup. Moving him to the 2nd slot isn't going to make his half ass swings any more effective.
  20. Classic Angels: watching strikes, swinging at balls. Can't get a runner in scoring position to score with no outs. My girlfriend says they look like the bad news bears LOL
  21. lol really? Like we'd run out of stuff to argue and discuss at length if the umpires calls could be corrected by replays... Unless I'm missing something, I don't think anyone suggested otherwise. To reitorate, I was merely providing an example of how a system like this could easily be integrated in the game, and how it would actually move the game into the 21st century, while also bringing fans closer to the action. I may be the minority, and perhaps the hyperbole is going over my head, but it seems to me typical fan who watches the game could really care less about the "human aspect" of officiating, especially when it comes to blown calls. This kind of stuff can change the outcome of a game, and an entire season. To me what's most important is that they make the right call.
  22. What the players union and the commissioner have to do to get it done is irrelevant, I'm just saying physically installing it isn't that hard. Imagine something like the video below going on at the baseball stadium on a close call, which is not perfect mind you, but it's a good framework to start from. Keep in mind it's not always going to be so close a call so not every pitch is going to be a 5-10 second delay, but when it is close, the big screen can review where the pitch was and why it was called that way. Awesome! So to me something like this would definitely move the game forward in terms of fan entertainment, because they actually get an inside look at what really happened on the play. In turn it brings the fans closer to the game than ever while they're in attendance at the stadium.
