  1. I felt like the quality dipped in the last couple of episodes, but mostly because of the editing. Some of the dialogue between Wanda and Vision is almost lyrical while some of the one-liners from Darcy and Woo were just doa. I'd call the writing uneven, but overall, not bad.
  2. thanks, Tank. what a year's it been. changed the way i look at pretty everything.
  3. original came out when i was 12, and i loved it. based on reviews on here and everywhere else, not sure i'm in a hurry to watch this one.
  4. Really enjoyed Wandavision. Like starter kit Lynch in some places which I wasn't expecting Marvel/Disney to even think about doing. I started watching Umbrella Academy because a couple of students rec'd it, and they were right. It's not top tier or anything, but it's enjoyable so far.
  5. This thread is so good to read. I managed to gain 30+ pounds over the past year, and am looking to slim back down. I've figured out over the past couple of weeks that I'm not a kid anymore and I have the random joint pain to prove it. This is tough, lol. Will keep plugging away though.
  6. allergy to the food you're using (and if it's a mass-produced food, the specific batch you got in the bag you bought), the dust in the litter you're using, parasites, hairballs backing up the digestive tract, the list goes on and on
  7. just finished a rewatch of moore's BSG. first time in 10 years, and i think it has aged well.
  8. Still some fun stuff in the other seasons, though yeah, the writing went down for sure. I'm in the final few eps of S3 right now, and it's still better than most stuff out there right now. I didn't realize that a show that ended 10 years ago needed spoiler tags, but sorry if I ruined it for anybody. Also, Sam and Diane don't get back together in the last ep of Cheers. Oops, I forgot spoilers. And I stopped The Walking Dead after season 1. It was clear to me that while it was pretty darn good, there was nowhere for the show to really go after the finale that wasn't going to be awful....a lesson I kind of learned from Lost, ironically.
  9. started a re-watch of lost last week.seemed appropriate since this whole thing is kind of like purgatory. i was late to the party and didn't watch it for the first time until 2011 when it was already done with its original run. i really didn't remember much of it, and i think season 1 has stood up pretty well. also finally watched watchmen on hbo, and really enjoyed it.
  10. we're not set up for online learning. issuing students chromebooks and asking teachers to use google classroom is not online learning, and any entity that says so is moronic. creating successful online learning tools is a different animal from in-person instruciton, and requires a different type of pedagogy and instructional design than what most teachers are used to. some states have started doing it in certain districts. i'm thinking this will accelerate the trend to create and implement legitimate online learning in a lot of states, though. i actually look forward to it. our 9th and 10th grade textbooks actually have some amazing online tools that i'd love to develop into online learning units.
  11. pretty sure school is going to end up getting cancelled for the rest of the year up here. inslee is doing a tv presser in a couple hours here, and i think there will be some more changes. going a little stir crazy, but nobody wants to hang out. i live alone, so vodka and rum have been pretty good friends to me, but i've resolved to only drink on fridays from now on.
  12. finally got around to spider man far from home like a lot of others, i had marvel superhero fatigue after endgame last may, and i think waiting 10 months to watch the next film was a good choice. i liked how both end-credits scenes set things up for the next phase of the films. really wondering how adam warlock is going to factor into everything now.
  13. where's crampknees? i'm starting to worry about a bunch of my old friends from the espn message board days.
  14. glad i don't eat dairy, bread, or eggs because i got back from the store an hour ago, and it was pretty much all gone.
  15. roughly. where i live in wa is much more like sacramento than seattle.
  16. i haven't been withing 200 miles of seattle in about 5 years, so i wouldn't know.
  17. our governor just ordered all bars and restaurants to be shut down
  18. schools up here are shut down until apr 24th at the earliest. tomorrow is our last day of school until then, and i just received an email saying all 80 of us on staff are supposed to meet tomorrow morning in a small space with terrible ventilation. logical! i was going to vegas for spring break during the first week of april, but mgm just announced they're shutting down tuesday, and not taking reservations again until may 1. wynn is closing until the first week of april. all of the other resorts will most likely follow in short order. if the masses could have been trusted to do what the CDC and WHO said, these draconian measures wouldn't have been necessary, but they couldn't, so here we are. i know that there's plenty to be critical of regarding state and federal leadership, too. see you all on the other side.
  19. really hoping teams don't even bother with drilling the cheating fucks during spring training. save it for games that actually count. the only problem is the mlb front office is full of cowards, and they'll have no problem punishing pitchers who do it. all because mlb didn't have the courage to deal out appropriate punishment on their own. really gross.
  20. i still think altuve was more worried about his jersey getting wrinkled than anything else. i think his fastidiousness should be celebrated. so many players look like slobs nowadays.
  21. finishing up season 3 of The Good Fight. it's gone into full satire mode, which i actually like. there's a scene where a witness tries to turn their testimony into an ASMR session in order to turn on a judge who's into it. terrific.
  22. saw star wars while i got an oil change this afternoon. it was perfectly fine to me. better than any of eps 1-3, and better than return of the jedi. i'm a star wars nerd, and just got done watching rebels a few weeks back, and actually enjoyed the final season of that, too. i don't get what people want from star wars movies. i think some people just write the movie they want in their heads, and then bitch endlessly when it's different from what they wrote.
