i enjoyed the irishman. pesci's performance especially. i also liked the tone of the whole movie towards organized crime. less sentimentality than scorsese usually shows with the subject, and it really worked. the little blurbs that showed up on screen for how some of the smaller characters died were pretty neat, too. -
Mandalorian isn't elevated tv, but I didn't expect it to be. i think it's a pretty nice start to non-animated original series for Disney+. Speaking of animated, S4 of Rebels was pretty darn good, too.

someday werner herzog will know how to pick winners...that teenagers approve of. coleman makes s3 of The Crown worth watching. such a wonderful actor. hard to believe the first time i saw here was in Hot Fuzz when i don't think she uttered a single word of discernible English

dude. exactly what i've said since it came out. get rid of all of that, and it's not a terrible movie if you do a bunch of rewriting. needed a little more legitimate training for Rey, but i can understand why Johnson didn't want to be accused of cookie cutting from Empire. Rise of Skywalker spoilers below:

thanks. i'm pretty cynical, but i do really love hanks and rhys. the rogers movie was saccharine. i don't expect a mafia movie regarding the guy, but i do expect at least a little nuance. but then again, i'm not 14 years old anymore. and yeah, i'm a huge mangold fan. 3:10 to Yuma has maybe Russell Crowe's and and Bales' best performances to date. Mangold brought that out of with Witherspoon and Phoenix in Walk the Line. Matt Damon was incredibly smart to do one of his movies at this point in his career. Dude showed he can actually actfor the 2nd time (the first was The Martian...or maybe his faux Loki in Thor: Ragnarok) since The Talented Mr Ripley. I'll watch anything Mangold directs because he also surrounds himself with the best talent in Hollywood for every aspect of the movies he chooses to make from costumes, to cinematography, to everything.

the mr. rogers movie was truly idiotic. bromide after bromide for old, white men to consume and get warm and fuzzy about. ford vs ferrari was okay, mostly because of the way it looked. i like most of what mangold does.

I enjoyed the pilot for The Madalorian on Disney+. The cinematography and set design make it feel more Star Wars than anything I've seen since episode vi.

Farscape is back on Amazon Prime. I have it on bluray, but I've been watching a couple of eps/night on stream. Like Star Trek TNG/DS9/Voyager, it gets off to a rough start, but it's only 4 season total, and from the 2nd half of S1 on, it's pretty fun. Ahead of its time in many ways.

Also, never forget 1995 and 2001 in which the M's accomplished....nothing at all really. But 1995 and 2001 bobbleheads and tshirt giveaways will get M's "fans" to pay for tickets for this dogshit team. It's all so Facking hysterical.

i'd probably check out a place like that if i were going with somebody. looks like it'll be a solo trip this time. staying on a comp at NYNY for a couple of days, and then switching over to cosmo. btw, blackstone/cosmo just bought Bellagio from MGM on a leaseback deal. circus circus was sold to the Treasure Island people.

i play on easy mode, and struggled with a boss early in the game when i was down 1 level from the recommendation. i'm actually okay with it as long as the end game stuff is good. we'll see.

i haven't been on here in a long time, lol trump will win a 2nd term. i accept it. he can literally say and do whatever he wants, and never risk losing the electoral college. the gop is better and smarter than the dnc right now, period. the emails i get from the dnc begging for money are patently absurd. "end citizen's united!" and such, which will never ever ever ever ever happen. they have no legitimate agenda or platform other than "we hate trump". i like castro, but he won't come close to making the top of the ticket.
