  1. Nice work on the write-ups! Just wanted to share my thoughts: I caught some of Dana's games last year, including his first start. Gotta say, his fastball looked solid, hitting 94 to 96 mph and giving batters a hard time. And his changeup? It's got some good drop to it, potential 55 grade pitch. With a bit more fine-tuning, his stuff could really take off. Definitely seeing some nice potential there!
  2. He is an 18 year-old kids, that has shown to have above-average bat to ball, and plate discipline with the potential to have a 60 grade or better hit tool. ( I would put it has a 55 grade now). The power could determine if he's a constant All-star at the lead off spot or middle of the line-up bat or a 2 to 3 war guy that steals 40 bases as a leadoff hitter. Ceiling for him is: 300+ hitter, 360-370 OBP 15 hR, 40 + double, 5 triples and a lot of steals at the lead off spot Like hood: He's a 270-280 hitter, 5 to 10 hrs, 340ish OBP, 25 to 30 doubles with a lot of steal. He'll be good for about 10 years before declinig. Honesty he's so young, that he could breakout a be a 20+ hr guy when it's all said and done.
  3. My personal hot takes by seasons end; 1. Dana will be the number 1 prospect in our system, top 35 Prospect and top 5 RHP in all of MLB. With My comp being a Corbin Burnes for him. 2. Rada is the number 2 prospect, and he be anywhere from 45 to 60 in the top 100. 3. Kent makes it as the number 3 prospect, and in the 90-100 range for the top 100. I see a bit of Jose Berrios in him. 4. Cole Fontenelle, climbs in the the top 10 list for me, and i see him similar to how Alberto Callaspo type of player 5. Hurtado, make it the top 15, with an upside of a #3 or #4.
  4. Watched a bit of Dana's start today; Fastball was 94 to 96 and he was getting pasted hitters with ease. I'd give it a 60 grade pitch. Slider is his second best pitch, and to me it looks like it was flashing plus. Not a sweeper, but a slider with a tight break. Also a 60 grade pitch Change, saw a quite a few changes today, I would consider it to an average to above-average pitch. Biggest thing I noticed was a lack of command, missed a quite a few up in the zone compared to his other pitches. The few he located really well down the zone looked Above-average to me. Curve, saw a few but not to many. Isn't a put out pitch. The upside is still there for him to be a 2/3 in any rotation. I think he still needs work with refining his stuff and control of his pitches. I would probably prefer that he stays in AA thru out the season with a goal of 80 to 100 innings. Next year start him in AA with a shot at a call-up late in the year. There is no real reason to rush him. Let him develop and understand the game.
  5. Excited for Soriano's first start! as a prospect, I had a Luis severino ( when he was good) comp. Command/control plus the 3rd pitch will be key!
  6. I've heard it mention before but for me this I'm considering this as more of a transition period than an full rebuild. I think the organization is trying to get an full assessment of what they have and what needs to be added. It's Early and a small sample size, but I think we're starting to see some breakouts and potential building blocks/stars in O'hoppe and Detmers.
  7. Honestly I've accepted the fact that this is what Sandy is as a pitcher. When he's on, he is on but when he is off, you just have to hope he goes 5 and keeps you in the game. He's basically Snell 2.0 with out the Ace label. I am more concerned about the middle Bullpen arms than him. Sandy did what I need him to do and gave us 5 and kept us close. 4-3 game is a lot different than 5-3 or even 6 to 3 game that happened.
  8. This Is game number 11, still a small sample size but Hicks as shown he's much better against lefties compared to righties. Thus he should be playing more against lefties and sitting against righties. Sano, I thinks deserves full time or close to full playing time. Adell and Moniak, got to see what they have. Rengifo should also.be full time.
  9. Dana getting his first start in AA, might watch it a bit. Texido was 87-89, but has alot of deception. there still room for development and added velo. I liked but I saw from him. His mechanics are quite similar to Ja Happ.
  10. honestly tier system and the whole grading each game isn't really worth it after 1.5 week in baseball. I'd understand if it was towards like week 4 to get assessment of the teams, but now it's pointless. Baseball isn't like basketball, a team/player could be getting An A+ the first 3 or 4 weeks and than crash. If your gone do a tier list or grades, I advice your to do one during game 40, 80,120 and 160. Basically break ot a part. Alot can help from this point to game 40, to 80 ...and etc. Also, the Os are a tier 1 team! Maimai is more of tier 3.
  11. I have no Issues with Soriano going 3 full innings and didn't think Ron mismanaged this game at all. With that Said, something I would consider going forward down the road. 1. Consider moving O'hoppe up to the 5th spot. he's a run producer and an RBI guy. I though by mid-season he'd be in the middle-of the line up. 2. Sano has impressed me! put him behind O'hoppe in the 6th-hole and Drury down in the 7th.
  12. Another solid start by Wantz! Also, Crouse might be another BP arm to keep an eye on. he was once a big time prospect!
  13. Does anyone know if MIlB is planning on using the same baseball in AA that were used last year? On that note, that AA rotation is going to have some series fire with Mederos, Koch and Dana. Also who are your guys breakout hitter and pitcher for this season? Mine are; For hitter: Alberto Rios For Pitcher: Hurtado
  14. I've been following this draft since the top draft list was posted. From what I've gather and heard, this is draft that's going to be heavy with college hitter, while being weak on the pitching sides and teenagers. The top 3 potential hitters that could go 1.1 are; Condon, Bazzana, and Wetherholt. The top pitchers that could go 1.1 are Burns and Smith For me personally My pick is Braden Montogomery, he has ranged between 6 to 9 in most mock draft. He is a switch-hitting outfielder with plus-plus power and an 80-grade arm that can potentially be a middle of the order bat. Baseball American released their first mock draft, and they have us selecting Jonathan Santucci, LHP. Which I'm not a fan of.
  15. Silseth was a bit unlucky in the first inning thanks to the bad defense. He would probably had been charged with at most one run in that inning. But Overall the stuff looks good!
