Maria I. GuardadoVerified account @mi_guardado 35m35 minutes ago Parker Bridwell’s MRI today revealed findings that “were unremarkable and presented no evidence of acute trauma to the ligament in his elbow,” per Angels GM Billy Eppler. “He has been diagnosed with elbow inflammation and will be cleared to throw once his symptoms subside.”

Prospect Hot Sheet (4/23/18) BA 11. David Fletcher, 2B, Angels Team: Triple-A Salt Lake (Pacific Coast) Age: 23 Why He’s Here: .464/.484/.767 (14-for-30), 9 R, 4 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 1 BB, 0 SO, 1-for-1 SB The Scoop: Fletcher made a convincing case to make the Angels' Opening Day roster as a utilityman and hasn’t slipped since the season opened. He’s been collecting hits by the bunch, posting five three-hit games and one four-hit game in his last nine contests, and is taking advantage of Salt Lake’s thin air with six doubles, two triples and a home run. While Fletcher’s ceiling is that of a utilityman, he’s showing he’s awfully close to fulfilling it, and may even be ready. (KG)

Jeff FletcherVerified account @JeffFletcherOCR 1h1 hour ago Ryan Schimpf was not hurt, by the way. He's not really a LF, so the Angels took him out since he wasn't going to hit again for a couple innings and they had the lead, Scioscia said.
-
Isn't that what they said about Nolan Ryan. If I recall it correctly it was Bill Bavasi who said it.
-
Schimpf should take Valbuena spot on next years team at league minimum. Eppler mentioned somthing about he is the type of bat the Angels are looking for.

April 5, 2018 4:00 pm Angels' Chris Rodriguez: On DL with back injury by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Rodriguez has a stress reaction in his back and will open the year on the disabled list at Low-A Burlington, MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo reports. Considered by some to be the Angels' top pitching prospect in the minor leagues, Rodriguez will miss a good chunk of the first half of the season with this injury. He has legitimate mid-rotation upside, with a plus fastball, a changeup that projects as a second plus pitch, and two quality breaking balls. The 19-year-old righty didn't post a pretty ERA (5.84) in 24.2 innings at Low-A last year, but his 3.17 FIP was more indicative of how well he pitched.

2018's Under-the-Radar Prospects MiLB.com staff predicts big seasons for lesser-known players Los Angeles Angels: Stiward Aquino, RHP A 6-foot-6 right-hander who turns 19 in June, Aquino already works comfortably with a lively fastball in the mid-90s. He has a great spin rate on that offering and his curveball, giving him the foundation to develop into a truly dangerous pitcher -- especially if his changeup improves. He's already impressed at the Rookie level, fanning 29 over 23 2/3 innings in the Dominican Summer League and then making two fine relief appearances in the Arizona League last year.
