  1. I'm considering the fact that at this point in Trout's career he isn't as good as Ruth was..and it isn't close!
  2. This is proof to me that WAR isn't accurate. I love Trout as much as any Angel fan but this stuff comparing him to Ruth is silly..Jesus, Ruth almost hit .400 in 23.
  3. Hope Terry is ok. I like his game calling so I guess that puts me in the minority. My only complaint with him is he doesn't give the score often enough, other than that I think Terry and Langston are a good team..in fact I wouldn't mind it if Langston replaced Gubi in the TV booth.
  4. I think wangin makes a small point here. The Angels have been much more successful than the Clippers have been but we (the Angels) have played second fiddle to the Dodgers just like the Clippers have played second fiddle to the Lakers only we've had the second seat much longer!
  5. Tried some of that back in the 60's..at least I think I did.
  6. I think it's likely that Ohtani doesn't pitch again this year..hope I'm wrong.
  7. LOL No one is dying here but the Angels are probably my number 1 source of entertainment and I can't help but feel that the organization has been taking advantage of fans like me for too long now. How does that old saying go..something like "shit or get off the pot"? The time has come for the Angels to do something.
  8. The first professional baseball game I attended was 1957 at Wrigley Field L.A. to watch the PCL Angels play..I was 5. Saw Steve Bilko hit one out that day. If I remember right he hit 57 home runs that year which was the last for the PCL Angels. When baseball expanded in 61 it was just natural for me to become an Angel fan. I never had an affinity for the Dodgers because they were from Brooklyn and f New York I'm a SoCal native. It ain't been easy and it's getting worse. So now I believe it's time for the Angel organization to step up and prove to the fans that support this team that they really are in it. No more AAA replacements and over the hill blowout patches like the last several years. Two years ago when our pitchers started going down one after another help never arrived and at the beginning of this year with so many question-marks in the rotation due to players coming off of serious injuries the Angels stood pat and didn't pursue any fa pitchers. I'm waiting for the Angels to start showing respect for the fans that have supported this franchise for decades that they really care about putting a quality product on the field. No more bs replacements like Matt Joyce etc. This team has major holes at several positions and the starting rotation has absorbed yet another blow..So what are you going to do Angels? YMMV
  9. If you were an Angel fan you would understand but since you aren't....
  10. The Angels seem to have a problem with admitting to the severity of players injuries.
  11. I'm normally pretty optimistic, you kind of have to be if you're an Angel fan for long, but this is just too much. I really think the Angels have some kind of curse on them. I'm mean really. How else can this crap keep happening over and over? I'll be honest here, my fandom is shaken. This team in order to stay competitive MUST go out and prove to the fans that they are in it and get some real help..no more blowout patches and a wing and a prayer or betting on the come with shitty replacements.
  12. Our recent history is to fill the spot with a blowout patch. Don't hold your breath waiting for real help to come because it's not!
  13. Unfortunately this was one of the risks the Angels took when we signed him because he had this problem last year in Japan and he missed a lot of the season. So now he's down again with it..it can't bode well for the future. His track record is now bad and this could easily turn into a recurring thing with TJ surgery around the corner. It was fun while it lasted but I'm very pessimistic about this.
  14. This is f**ked..how long before Simmons foot is amputated?
  15. We get kicked in the nuts on a regular basis these days. If it wasn't for bad luck, the Angels wouldn't have no luck at all.
  16. They're dropping like flies. Othani missed a lot of last season in Japan with this problem..it's not a new issue with him. I'm betting TJ surgery is just around the corner.
