  1. That's why Weaver should move to the pen. He seems OK first time thru the line up and then look out.
  2. Starting to look like 2014 Rangers with all the injuries. The next year they won the division, but they did have a better farm. But we have Trout.
  3. Shouldn't we have hit for Weaver there? I mean before we really get behind.
  4. The second time threw the order has not been good this year. that is why he might be better in the pen.
  5. Ortega will be back tomorrow. He hasn't been doing so well in Salt Lake. He is hitting only .211.
  6. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/12/sports/baseball/disputed-treatment-was-used-in-bartolo-colons-comeback.html I think he is going the Bartolo Colon route with stem cell injections. Purita said he employed what he regards as one of his more pioneering techniques: he used fat and bone marrow stem cells from Colon, injecting them back into Colon’s elbow and shoulder to help repair ligament damage and a torn rotator cuff.
  7. Cron made a few quite good picks in the dirt today. The defense did a good job over all.
  8. Odor is just as bad, they are both dirty players.
  9. Salas has been better so far this year than he is given credit for on the message board.
  10. Ka-ching has made only 1 mistake in his first 6 innings as an Angel, a HR. Looks like he'll fit right in.
  11. Harper is getting more walks than just about anyone since Bonds retired. He is walked at least 2 times a game and 3 times a game is becoming a common occurrence. His OPS is sky rocketing while is batting average is hovering in the .270s. Teams don't want anything do do with him, it seems. He could really use some protection in the line up.
  12. Escobar will be 35 years old next year, Cowart will be 25. Escobar is going to begin his decline while Kaleb is going to hopefully start to peak. Kaleb is a far superior defender also. He is also under team control at minimum wage for years to come.
  13. Last year as a starter while Freese was on DL Cowart was 0 for his first four games. He had his major league hit in his fifth game, a HR. Starting from that game until Freese returned he went 9 for 26 a .346 BA. A small sample size for sure but it was encouraging.
  14. At Salt Lake they have been moving him all over the infield. He has played several games at 2B and last nite he hung at SS. His best position though is 3B.
  15. CJ has just began to start hitting, over the last 2 weeks his slash line is .429/.474/.686/1.159 with 3 doubles 2 HRs and 10 RBIs. As far as not taking walks he has begun to turn that around also. Last year he walked all of 17 times, so far this season he has walked 11 times. Granted he not a great fielder but if he keeps hitting like he is at the moment, his defense is good enough to justify his ABs.
  16. I have been pushing this guy since he started hitting last year in the IE. I kept getting all the negative replies, saying his resurgence was just a fluke, and the real Cowart was the one from AA. I would tell them that with his IE hitting coach they would spend hours reviewing video of his swing from when he was still a top prospect. He spent hours in the batting cage trying to recapture the swing he had before his AA coaches tried to fix it. From that moment on he started to to get his foot down on time and his BA began to climb and climb. According to reports he is one the very best fielding 3B man in all of the minors, possible the very best. His arm is a canon and he has a 95 mph fastball and can easily make throws across the diamond having once been a pitcher. The fluke years were the 2 he had in AA.
