  1. Middleton throws hard, but with no movement. Maybe he should drop the velocity down a notch and let the ball move a little bit move. Also a sharp slider into the dirt wouldn't hurt either. I don't know anything about Diaz so...
  2. For every game we lose it is like getting one pick earlier in the draft...
  3. What would happen to foul balls if they were stamped with a number. how did they tell the real one from the foul ball?
  4. The Cubs really? more than 100 years between WS wins. Indians 80+ years and still haven't won another WS. The Astros took 10 years of being terrible to become a contender again. They went 3 years in a row 50+ games below .500.
  5. Some team with a lot of money and/or prospects are going to trade for Stanton. The Dodgers have both.
  6. Upton wants to win and the Giants finished last in their division this season, and could lose 100 games if they are swept this weekend.
  7. Angels Signing Trent Deveaux https://scout.com/mlb/angels/Article/Angels-Signing-Highly-Touted-International-Prospect-Trent-Deveau-74899800
  8. It depends on who you sign, if you get an All Star type player for he cost of a prospect that may or may not make the ML in 3 or 4 years it would most likely be worth it, depending on the amount and length of the contract. Next year Harper is a free agent and you can bet he gets QO, but who ever signs him would gladly give a 2nd pick. The 2nd pick isn't as bad as losing the first pick like last few years. A player such as J D Martinez can't be offered a QO because he was traded, same goes for Upton. Qualifying offers will be near $18M this off season, teams will have to be careful who they extend it to because they just might take it. Think Rasmus 2 years ago with Houston.
  9. If Pujols pays 1 more season he will in all probability reach his 3000 hits and 2000 RBIs. If he repeats next season with a year similar to this year his career BA will be just under 302. He won't be able to maintain that .300 BA for 2 years in all probability, so hopefully next year will be his last. His chances of reaching 700 HRs are very unlikely, especially while maintaining his .300 BA, so I bet he will retire after 2018.
  10. Exactly and we move up at least 3 places in the draft next June, win-win for us. If we win only one game we tie for second but get a worse draft pick.
  11. We we lose 2 or 3 games to Seattle we have a shot at the 15th pick in the draft. If we win all 3 we will most likely get the 18th pick.
  12. If we sweep Seattle and the A's sweep Texas the A's can jump over them both.
  13. No longer lose 1st draft picks signing FA.
  14. If KC and TB win their last 3 games and we lose tonite and 3 games to Seattle we can move up 3 spots in the next draft.
  15. We need to win 3 of the final 4 games just to finish at .500.
  16. Hopefully, I hope he doesn't have any delusions of 700 HRs, also 83 more RBIs to reach 2000.
  17. I never understood that argument, what difference does it make if the offense comes from 2B or 3B as long as you get the offense. There are a lot of 3Bmen that also can play 2B and visa-versa. If you had a 2B man that could hit 25+ HR while batting .275/.350 who cares if the 3B hits .230/.310 and play GG defense. There are plenty of 2Bmen with good to great offensive numbers.
