  1. Not saying he’s the only reason, but when a team of any organization only makes the playoffs once in the past eight years, it’s very rare the head coach sticks around. Change is usually made. Regardless of if it’s his fault or not, Scisocia is very lucky to still be managing a team the way this team has performed the past 8 years because other managers would have been ousted a lot quicker.
  2. If we don’t at least make the wild card game, Scioscia does not deserve to be our manager next year. For shit sake already, he’s been here for like 20 years and we have made the playoffs once in the past eight. Who else has got resigned making the playoffs once in the past eight years? No idea but it can’t be a big list. The Scioscia era had its fun but damn.. He can’t coach this team forever.
  3. So Middleton went on the DL with elbow inflammation and then right when he returns, he needs Tommy John? Is that just a coincidence? Or did the medical staff not see something?
  4. Albert Pujols is my least favorite player to watch in all of baseball. Sad that it's come down to that. What a horrendous contract and player. 3 more years after this one.
  5. The same Upton everyone was bashing two weeks ago for being terrible?
  6. @Blarg this is where my comment stemmed from about the Giants/Reds game. I don’t know if the zones the network used are different from the one you listed, but there were a bunch of bad calls in this game according to the strike zone on tv. Obviously, if they do an electronic strike zone they would have to do one that is universal for all. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2776433-brandon-belt-suggests-some-umpires-call-strikes-to-shorten-length-of-game
  7. Crazy. The strike zone they had on tv showed a lot of balls out of the square called strikes. But I mostly noticed the calls on certain players on my fantasy team... either way, still for the electronic strike zone.
  8. Yes. 100 percent. I was watching the Giants and Reds game today and the strike and ball calling was absolutely putrid. Just an embarrassing act of umpiring. Strike calling affects the outcome of games. It needs to be done properly and accurately.
  9. There was belief he was pitching through injury last year. Players also just have down years and it looks like last year was an aberration. He has a career 2.80 ERA as a reliever in the majors on some really good teams and right now he's pitching to a 1.15 ERA. I don't know if any one person would be a savior to this bullpen, but he would certainly give it a boost and he would most certainly be given the 9th inning with no debate. Of course, I would also be down for a Hand job like @rafibomb proposed.
  10. Guy has been dominant. The main question is will he fall off like he did last year? The Holland situation is mind boggling. They paid 14 million for this guy and did everything they could to try to make him the closer. He kept blowing his chances and it's looking more and more like the Cardinals paid 14 million for a low leverage reliever who sucks. He looks flat out terrible out there. Can't throw strikes, velocity down, not striking many people out, and is very hittable. Only a one year deal but it's kind of nice to see the Cardinals do something stupid. It's very rare they do.
  11. It's annoying haha He went on his streaks here, but let see if this play continues. If it does, ouch....
  12. Cron hit another home run today. Up to 23 runs, 10 HR, 26 RBI, .288 AVG, and .865 OPS.
  13. Thankfully that eagle landed on James' non-throwing shoulder or else he'd be looking at a 4-6 week DL stint.
  14. I think it’s more of a motivational tactic to instill confidence in Randle’s head on the player he could be if he keeps his mind focused.
