  1. Have all 7 batters in the 2nd really hit the first pitch? MLB app says so
  2. 40-50 with the Angels, no question. Conger is 25 and you should probably find out what he can do with a decent amount of major league playing time. I like his chances of doing better than the other backup candidates.
  3. Jose also said Pedro Strop is "all arms, all legs, and mid 90s"
  4. Rodney wasn't much different with the Angels than he was before coming to the Angels. We'll see how close he comes to repeating last year's success.
  5. I click on a couple every day on my phone. Accidentally.
  6. Yes. Supposedly, you can't bring in fast food like at The Big A... just food from home... but they don't search very thoroughly. You can also bring in a sealed bottle of water. Ask the Michael Jackson impersonator driving the bicycle taxi to stop and let you get a bottle and some peanuts across the street.
  7. Now, I'm seeing World Of Warcraft. I think I'll buy it. The ad on the mobile version is fairly large.
  8. Soon, you can challenge the klingons for interstellar domination.
  9. This is not a non-story. Many people are talking about it. It likely won't be a big deal, but it is interesting because many top rookies get bigger raises despite how the system works. The Angels are very competitive, spending wise, in terms of free agents, and everything else, but they are probably one of the stingier teams when it comes to players under club control.
  10. From the OC Register "Over the previous five years, the 10 players who won the Rookie of the Year were paid an average of 21.7 percent over the minimum."
  11. Marlins certainly already pissed off Stanton. He is gone even if they give him $5 million this year.
  12. This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by Lou. View it anyway? No, thanks.
  13. Its not a great comparison to the average career, but if Joe Schmoe is outperforming everyone in the industry and gets far less of a raise than the best comps have gotten in recent years, I think Joe Schmoe would be a bit disappointed.
  14. Even under Arte's regime, second year players have usually gotten more. Weaver - 385k to 435k (minimum went up 10k) Santana - 350k to 425k (minimum went up 9k) Kendrick - 395k to 432k (minimum went up 10k) Aybar - 382.5k to 415k (minimum went up 10k) Trumbo - 414k to 500k (minimum up 66k, so same amount as Trout's raise, more as a percentage) Bourjos - same as Trumbo Willits - 382.5k to 432.5k (minimum up 10k) Napoli - 395k to 425k (minimum up 10k)
  15. They did. Derek Jeter - $550k second year. $130k rookie year. Albert Pujols - $600k second year. $200k rookie year. Ryan Braun - $1.03m second year. $455k rookie year. Tim Salmon - $600k second year. $127.5k rookie year
  16. It doesn't have to work that way, and often doesn't work that way. Ask Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols, Ryan Braun, Tim Salmon, and others.
