  1. http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/473-angels-renew-trout-510k-agent-mad/page-5#entry8755
  2. Again.... I haven't suggested they pay Trout "Wells money".
  3. Even if it isn't disrespectful, he may think it is. His family and friends might. His agent seems to. In business, you also need to consider doing things to appease your star employees, so they stay your employees.
  4. The Angels' angle is that they treat all their young players the same. Does anyone think Mark Trumbo, Peter Bourjos, or Erick Aybar would be upset if Trout got $750k? Trout's season was so great, it isn't like future players could reasonably expect a raise like Trout got.
  5. They didn't have to make the trade and pay Wells. I've never suggested offering Trout a crazy @ss contract now.
  6. Wells is relevant when illustrating what kind of money is being talked about. It is penny pinching. Why risk affecting future negotiations, everyone asking Trout about this.... over so little money?
  7. He gave it out to Vernon Wells. That's the absurdity of this in a nutshell. We aren't talking about $80 million, $20 million, or even $2 million.
  8. Bryce Harper signed a 5 year contract that started in 2011. Not comparable.
  9. Tim Salmon earned $600k after his ROY campaign. 19 years ago.
  10. You can thank the Angels for that. They could've prevented it.
  11. The comments about him being able to live on this much money, his endorsements, and how young he is... are silly. Completely irrelevant.
  12. There's three videos on there. Try this link http://mlbnetwork.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=7417714... look below on the playlist... scroll if necessary.
  13. I'm not even sure what it means. Last year, Tim Mead mentioned they weren't thrilled that he tweeted that Mike had been called up before the Angels had announced it... because it meant someone was getting sent down, but hadn't been told.
  14. Tyler Trout ‏@TylerTrout I'm loving twitter right now. The comments are great - and almost all on point.
  15. Another reason why it makes no sense not to throw him a few extra bucks. The questions are only being asked because they gave him a paltry raise.
  16. I like how people take his public word and pretend that he may not feel otherwise. I am not pissed or outraged. I just want one person to give me one good reason not to bump his pay by a reasonable amount.
  17. I've been to all of the home playoff games and home clinchers in this century. Other than those, road games stick out the most, partly because I try to get great seats. 2004 and 2005 clinchers in Oakland. Peter Bourjos' first major league home run and Jordan Walden's debut in Minnesota (2nd row Angels dugout seats). Target Field's first year. Angels (and my) first trip to Wrigley Field. Angels 2008 trip to brand new Nationals Park (2nd row aisle seats behind home plate) and Citizens Bank Park (Angels went 4-0). Ran into Juan Rivera at the airport before the series was over and asked if he'd been traded. Colorado 2012 - Long time coming. Saw one game with a bunch of family. Watched the first period of the Kings Stanley Cup clincher on the return flight home. Kansas City 2012 - Terrorist, giant Mike Trout heads, and a Southwest voucher. Bugged Mark Gubica and Victor Rojas at the airport. Others: 2010 Home Run Derby 2006 21-6 win against KC. DaVanon hit for the cycle. Jose Molina hit a grand slam. 2003 spring training vs Giants at Scottsdale. Angels fans were walking the concourse taunting Giants fans. 2002 Troy Glaus three home run game 2002 spring training brawl against the Padres
  18. Weak move by the Angels. A raise like ones given to other great rookies in recent memory wouldn't have broken the bank. Think of what they've wasted $200-300k on recently. How much does Josh Hamilton's babysitter get? I can see waiting on a ten year contract, but pinching pennies after a historic season by the future of your franchise makes little sense. His time is going to come. When it does, you want him to want to stay. You do things between now and then that won't get in the way. Maybe iit isn't a big deal (neither is the money) but how many times have we heard these players take offense being "disrespected" or something along those lines?
  19. 24/7? Yikes. Didn't seem that bad on the stream. He sat and was quiet at times. Any idea why he got a one round penalty in the main event? He mentioned it, but either didn't explain or I couldn't follow what he was saying.
