  1. Took me a minute to figure out how to post this and it's still coming up really small. you have to click on it... i'm a gif-making failure.
  2. Speaking of Rodney's bows and arrows... Anyone watching Monday Night Football? Travis Kelce on the Chiefs just did that same little celebratory move.
  3. Fav moment of the games I attended: The "bullpen game" against the A's that everyone just assumed we were going to lose. there were a million A's fans in our section and winning was such sweet victory. Fav moment in general: Being at a Lionel Ritchie concert while my team was facing Chris Sale and just kind of hoping they didn't get embarrassed - going to the bathroom halfway through the show just to check gameday on my phone and seeing bases loaded, Trout up with a full count, then "in play, runs". I think I then proceeded to run around drunkenly celebrating with strangers and showing them the video of the grand slam. They didn't care but it was glorious. And Lionel Ritchie was singing Dancing on the Ceiling. Honorable mentions: Pujols hitting homeruns 499 and 500 in the same game, Richards' first complete game, beating Greinke and hitting Kershaw pretty hard in LA, and finally, of course, winning the division by a landslide while Oakland burned. Worst moments: watching Richards go down and feeling like the world was over, the opening series sweep by the Mariners and feeling like the world was over, finding out that the Angels are the ONLY AL West team NOT coming to play here at Petco Park next season. Seriously the worst f-ing luck with the schedule.
  4. oh my god that picture is so repulsive... maybe visually the lowlight of the MLB season...
  5. i just assumed Thursday was going to be a night game... made my travel plans accordingly. i guess that was stupid.
  6. Happily! (see my thread fail from earlier). With all the coaching openings happening, can someone please take Gary off our hands? DiSar would make a great Astros/Twins/DBacks coach.
  7. WHOA- The Twins just fired Gardenhire!? I guess Scioscia is the King of MLB Manager Tenure now... undisputed. With all the firings that are happening/about to happen maybe someone will take DiSar off our hands...
  8. haha, yeah, I know. and I enjoy it. I guess it's just that every topic turns into a "we are scared of their pitching" thread and I'm ready for their season to be over like it should have been last week. Too bad the Indians couldn't have gotten hot or something. I was looking forward to the possibility of Angels baseball without reference to "they who shall not be named in this thread"
  9. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm tired of worrying about them. Can we have a thread that doesn't talk about them at all? We don't get to decide who we play anyway.. The topic is causing me insomnia (i was up til 4 am thinking about it and up at 7), and marital problems. I want to talk about LITERALLY ANYTHING that isn't losing to Oakland. oh, or Derek Jeter.
  10. I.... I just don't understand.... why are you a fan of Billy Beane and the Angels at the same time?.... my head just exploded.
  11. We can beat the A's. We proved that all season. But the thing that causes concern is that if their offense fires back up, winning 2-0, like we did against Samardzija at home or in extra innings against Lester in that same series, is a lot harder. It can be done though. If they win the WC by the skin of their teeth and they are still playing like they have all month, i say we throw LeBlanc out there. he almost no-hit them last week.
  12. I heard that a nasty picture of Reddick in stupid hipster undies was circulating but because I don't hate myself I didn't seek it out on the internet. wow... it found me, thanks Hamiltown. Gives new meaning to the term "moneyball"
  13. Any time i'm feeling blue about our offense cooling down I remind myself that our starters are really only seeing about 2-3 at bats per game before being pulled. Throughout the season this has been a "come from behind" team and often the starters go 0'for for the first few innings (remember Chris Sale?). They haven't been getting the chance to heat up in later innings because they are on the bench. I'm choosing to see the positives. Shoe threw a bullpen session today. CJ's last 2 out of 3 starts were very solid, and Trout/Howie/Aybar/Pujols/Calhoun/Street/Smith/Weaver etc didn't get hurt playing meaningless innings. I can't stress that last one enough. obviously it would have been great to see Trout triple and Pujols homer today off of King Felix but you can't always get what you want.
  14. how about psychiatrics? I feel like i might need some help in that field throughout the post season.
  15. I didn't know there were so many doctors contributing to AngelsWin.
  16. well- we also got Campana and he had that one game winning run he scored. so only a partial waste of Rondons.
  17. I'm torn. Even with the playoffs on the line and Martinez pitching, the A's barely strung together a win today. Would have been a 2 run game if not for Texas' errors in the 9th. Also, in the second half, our shaky pitching has succeeded quite well against the A's. Also, KC has a better bullpen and their offense knocked Shoe around pretty good. That said, I actually like KC and hate Oakland. So i'd rather just have Oakland knocked out for once and for all. I don't trust this collapse. It's an irrational emotion. But I'd rather see them lose the WC.
  18. and I like that they got that ball back for him. love this team.
  19. re: Boesch- I was watching the video from the 2011 game vs. the Tigers that Jered Weaver got ejected from for buzzing Avila. It was funny to see Boesch on the other side partaking the Tigers butthurtedness over something they started. The Angels haven't had a brawl in a while.
  20. I love this a lot. Cy Tepesch. Hope he sucks next year though.
  21. Completely agree with you. I hope our story doesn't end with being swept in the WS.
