That's really not the case though. In his first stint with the team ('89 to '99), look at their record. They were only over .500 half the time and, with the exception of '97, they were barely over .500. The 2 times they made the post season ('95 and '97), Randy Johnson had monster years. (And let's not even talk about how they ended up making the playoffs in '95).
