  1. Section 3
    Section 34. Goaltending
    Art. 1.
Goaltending shall have occurred when a defensive player touches
the ball during a field-goal try and each of the following conditions is met:
    Exceptions
    : Rules 10-3.6; 10-6.1.i
    a.
The ball is in its downward flight; and
    b.
The entire ball is above the level of the ring and has the possibility,
while in flight, of entering the basket and is not touching the
    cylinder.

Definitely got away with one there. Judgement call (not reviewable), not always obvious from the angle seen from the refs. Fun to watch the jackasses on tv  get all upset about it though.

  2. The ball wasn't going in but it was over the rim when the defender touched it. Goaltending.

Looney had the rebound and was 2 feet away to tie.

I thought Welsh played well while Parker laid another egg.

    Alford was awesome.

Glad Powell's career doesn't end with the bad taste of dribbling the ball off his foot.

UAB next. Bruins already beat then once this year.

  3. It worked so well in the USSR. The bragged about 100% voter turnout.

If you don't vote then some of your property will be stolen (a fine) with the threat of violence if you don't cooperate. If you don't pay the fine then they will attempt to lock you in a cage. If you don't cooperate with your own kidnapping then they will kill you.

Authoritarians know so much about freedom.

  4. The architect of the letter, Tom Cotton (S-AR), received $960,250 from the Emergency Committee for Israel.

He's just another warmongering neo-con but he might as well add "Likud Party" member to his titles.

An excellent speech on the genesis of the neo-con (bowel) movement is this one by Ron Paul almost 12 years ago.

It's definitely worth the time to listen.

Calling these psychopathic bastards "demonic" isn't wrong. They have no problem starting wars that result in the deaths of millions. I bet they sleep just fine.

Forget Rep/Dem party arguments. You won't find anything but skilled salespeople for debt and death in either one. I'm not buying.

When Madeleine Albright was asked if a half a million dead Iraqi children was "worth it", she said that it was. Only a psychopath completely devoid of empathy would treat 10 stadiums full of dead babies as if they were inanimate objects.

Bush the comedian? How many hundreds of thousands suffered and died so this piece of shit murderer could stand up there and tell jokes?

    The current drone king?

The next psychopathic puppet that gets "voted" in by stupid people who think they actually have a choice?

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors … and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

                                                                Karl Rove

  5. I never understood pledging allegiance to a flag.

Yeah, I'm pretty uneasy about it too, especially indoctrinating small children with such nationalistic fervor who are barely old enough to keep from pissing their pants.

Most folks probably believe that the pledge of allegiance was written by Jefferson or Washington or somebody.

Nope. It was written in 1892 by a socialist Francis Bellamy.

Here's the Bellamy Salute: hmmm, oddly familiar?

  6. At my place in eastern Oregon at least half of the people I know open carry a firearm at all times. I certainly do. There are the normal predators, bear and cougar, all over but now there are also large packs of huge canadian grey wolves that some fucktard govt assholes introduced into the area (reintroduced is not accurate, the indigenous species was much smaller).

With all those evil guns there must be a lot of gun crimes and accidents, right? No. Nothing at all. People are polite and friendly and certainly considerate of others' property.

Securing your weapons is the easiest thing there is.

This video came out a few days ago:

    [media]

    [media]

    From 3:18 in the video,

"You killed me (moaning)"           (the attacker survived)
    "You were gonna kill ME!"
    "Yeah, you're right I was"
"Well, then I did the right thing"
    "You did."

That guy should have called the "authorities" like a good little slave and waited while he and his girlfriend (and possibly other neighbors) are hacked to pieces?

  7.

There was a story in the local paper about some Korean chick that was drunk, and jaywalked across Olympic that was arrested.  She was put in the squad car, and as they left, she somehow was able to get the door open, and fell out of a moving patrol car.

    I remember that.

The alleged victim, Kim Nguyen, a 27-year-old pharmacist, says she was handcuffed in the back of a squad car when an officer began to sexually assault her.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 17, 2013.
The video, showing the woman sprawled on the ground, shows her with her dress removed from the waist down.
Nguyen said the officer's negligence also caused her to tumble out of the vehicle.
The alleged victim says it all started when she was standing in front of a downtown restaurant with two male friends.
Just after 2 in the morning, she said the three friends were waiting for a cab as they had all been drinking.
She said officers pulled up and placed her in the back of a patrol car — for allegedly being intoxicated — and left the men behind.
In a deposition taped this past December, she claimed the officer who was in the back seat with her, started grabbing her left inner thigh and began opening her legs. Nguyen says the officer touched her chest and pulled her ears to get her closer to him.

Officer Friendly forgot to latch the car door before the rape.

    Never fear, LAPD is "investigating".

    21 months later....

The LAPD say that they are “investigating,” but that investigation has never concluded. Still, the department says they “will ensure that Ms. Nguyen is made aware of the outcome of the investigation related to this incident,” whenever they finally conclude it.

Wait, I thought that if you cooperated with police then everything would be just fine...

  8. Ho Hum.

Even in the rare case when a cop gets fired for crimes committed under color of law, they often get their jobs back or get rehired by another department.

Forget about them being charged or actually doing time as a result of those crimes.

    Yesterday:

    http://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop-fired-beating-non-violent-handcuffed-man-video-job-pay/

Cop stomps on handcuffed mans head, pulls his arms back as far as they'll go, then repeatedly elbows him in the face. Yeah, but he was drunk and impolite to the brave officer. Did you see those "good" cops who witnessed these crimes and did.... absolutely nothing?

Cop was fired by the city of Owasso.

But then with the help of the Fraternal Order of Pigs he gets his job back including back pay (probably a large amount considering the length of time and the that he was a Lt.)

The tax-tick jackboot mafia parasites will always protect their own.

  9. Another interesting article. Thanks for posting it.

    From the article:

I collected this data myself because the U.S. Government doesn't. There is no national database dedicated to police involved shootings. Alan Maimon, in his article, "National Data on Shootings by Police Not Collected," published on November 28, 2011 in the "Las Vegas Review-Journal," wrote "The nation's leading law enforcement agency [FBI] collects vast amounts of information on crime nationwide, but missing from this clearinghouse are statistics on where, how often, and under what circumstances police use deadly force. In fact, no one anywhere comprehensively tracks the most significant act police can do in the line of duty: take a life."

Since the government keeps statistics on just about everything, why no national stats on something this important? The answer is simple: they don't want us to know.

Unfortunately, he only recorded deaths from media sources and deaths by firearm.

Police are very capable of turning living, breathing human beings into corpses without using their guns. Officer Ramos demonstrated that fact very well "Now see these fists? They're going to (expletive) you up."

  10. That is interesting.

So it illegal to use tear gas in war, but okay to subject marines to it in training? Great.

U.S. Marines are frequently exposed to tear gas and pepper spray during training. This helps familiarize Marines with the effects of the agents and teaches them how to function and perform their jobs after they have been exposed to the gas and spray. Although the U.S. Army concluded in a 1993 report that exposure to pepper spray and tear gas may lead to serious problems such as cancer and heart disease

    They don't give a shit.

An excellent book that i recently read was "War is a Racket" by Major General Smedley Butler (2 time congressional medal of honer recipient)
