  1. tear gas is illegal in war now?...

    Yes.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/08/14/tear-gas-is-a-chemical-weapon-banned-in-war-but-ferguson-police-shoot-it-at-protesters/

His fear of tear gas is appropriate. Despite its ubiquity across the globe and in United States, tear gas is a chemical agent banned in warfare per the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993, which set forth agreements signed by nearly every nation in the world — including the United States.

  2. I sometimes like reading the cop forum policeone.com for some perspective of "the other side".

They actually make the posters verify that they are really cops.

It always delivers. No matter how heinous or unjustified the crime by police, they will always make excuses for it. Lots of "brotherhood" nonsense.

And occasionally a gem like this one:

  3. This is my favorite recipe for turkey (from Tom Woods wife)

    http://primalcooks.blogspot.com/2012/11/easy-perfect-turkey-with-photos.html

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    Salt
    Pepper
    Thyme
    Rosemary
    Oranges
    Yellow onion

Slice the oranges into fourth wedges per orange. Onions should be halved, and then cut into four wedges each half. Rosemary and Thyme (as well as other dried herbs) should *always* be ground before seasoning your dish. Grounding herbs releases oils which makes your dishes that much  more aromatic and tasty! I use a mortar pestle, because it's awesome! But you can also just roll the herbs between your fingers to release the oils. Wash the bird. And DRY it with paper towels. I had always heard this, but thought it was goofy, so I never dried it. Turns out, if you don't dry it, it won't brown correctly. And half the battle of a turkey is a great, golden color!

Hold the bird up so that you can easily season the inside of the turkey. Throw in some salt (don't be stingy--the juices will wash away a lot of the salt), pepper, and the herbs. Then squeeze a couple of orange wedges into the bird, then throw the whole thing into the turkey. Alternate between stuffing onion and orange wedges (squeezing the juice out first...all over the bird, inside and out) into the cavity. Then pour 2-3 tablespoon olive oil into/over the produce. This helps to... actually, I have no idea, but it makes the onions smell amazing when they are baking!

Now for the outside of the turkey:
Pour olive oil over turkey and rub it in.
Salt it well, but don't go crazy. I have used sea salt before, and it doesn't work... much too salty.
    Pepper
And then throw the rest of the herb mix all over the turkey, making sure you get under the wings and drumsticks.

Stick it in the oven. All ovens vary, so this is a difficult call. I had to use 350 at my old house. I tried 350 in this oven, but it was too hot. Most likely your oven will need to be anywhere between 325 and 350.

(the rest is at the link)

She advises a fresh bird no larger than 13 lbs but I've tried it with a frozen turkey and it still came out very good.

I shot a wild turkey (bow) last year and it was the best tasting turkey I've had.

  4. Blackberries are a favorite. Very easy to grow if you have a little open stretch of wall in a back yard (triple crown is a good thornless variety). I canned about 30 jars of blackberry jam last year. Good in smoothies or on pancakes or waffles.

I'll be planting some Ashitaba plants next spring in the greenhouse. It's a potent antioxidant.

The only supps I take beyond diet are COQ10 and PQQ(pricey but worth it).

  5.

If we can have a thread shitting on cops, why can't we have one for lunatic SJWs?

There's nothing wrong with your thread. There is a big difference though, between some hypersensitive feminists expressing outrage and some rogue cops beating the shit out of, kidnapping, raping, robbing, surveilling or killing people.

The state of the feminists being offended really only exists in their own minds. Unless they initiate some force against someone then what harm has really been done? The shirt wearer had several responses to choose from. He chose groveling contrition.

  6. I like diesel. Averaged 49.7 MPG on my last long trip.

It's also got enough torque to haul a 3500 lb trailer if needed (boat or firewood).

I add a liter of biodiesel every fillup to improve lubricity. The fedgov dicked with the diesel formula in 2006 so using a lubricity additive is a good idea.

  7. More illegal mass surveillance.

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/los-angeles-police-data-target-crime-26904010

This time dealing with "pre-crime". Minority Report come to life. We are living in a damned science fiction novel.

"LASER uses technology developed by the CIA's venture capital arm"

It's not often that a member of the controlled media would even talk about In-Q-Tel.

  8. 75 today.

Shooting in the mid 70's is great golf. I was never able to consistently break 80 even while playing everyday in high  school. I had one miracle round (4 birdies in a row) at La Mirada where I was -1 going into the last hole. That didn't end well.

Right now my game is so rusty I'd be happy to shoot bogey.

If I have time this winter I plan to borrow/rent a larger tractor and build a green and sand trap on some extra land I have. Maybe plant some tee boxes around the property. The longest shot from the very edge of the property would be about 220 yards.

  9. I'm afraid of 99% of people out there with guns, but getting shot isn't in my top 5.

I'm not. The vast majority of gun owners know to never point a gun at anything you don't intend to shoot (muzzle discipline). There are exceptions of course, that warmongering coward Dick Cheney being a good example.

    This is of more concern:checkpointguns3.jpg

America, land of the "checkpoint". Where you can drive down the street minding your own business only to have some costumed fukk stop you and point a rifle at your head.

    Real concerns?

The dollar is very precarious. Whether a fast crash or a slow decline into hyperinflation as the banks finally put into circulation the trillions that they are holding (which has never happened before) is hard to guess. No currency can go from $840B (in 2008) to $4T+ without dire consequences.

Much less likely but still a concern would be the possibility of a strong CME or EMP.

A strong CME nearly happened in 2012.

    http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2014/02may_superstorm/

CME would only couple into very large antenna like power lines. Fixing it wouldn't be a matter of some workers going out to flip a switch. New transformers would have to be fabricated and installed. Certainly it would take many months if not longer before the lights came back on.

An EMP would do that plus it would couple into small electronic devices as well. Anything with a mosfet or finfet (just about everything now) would be toast. Some useful info in the EMP Commission to Congress in this pdf:

    http://www.empcommission.org/docs/A2473-EMP_Commission-7MB.pdf

So yeah, I'm not too worried about identity theft or the dark. People have some serious normalcy bias to overcome if they think that's all there is to be worried about.

  10. We've had ants like crazy since the beginning of summer here at my house. No matter how many times I spray or clean the house entirely. They just come back.

A month back we had a exterminator come to spray inside and out. That did absolutely nothing to help.

This is the stuff you want:

    http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/termidor-sc-pr-184.html

Use coupon code givemea5 for $5 off.

Get a sprayer for like $8.

It's not worth fighting them and spraying all kinds of things inside your house.

  11. "This week, James Johnson, a former Kentucky correctional officer, avoided jail time after he admitted to sexually assaulting dozens of inmates and supplying the prison with drugs.

Johnson worked at the Kentucky Correctional Institute for women in Pewee Valley, where he admittedly ran a drug ring inside the prison, and sexually assaulted a number of the inmates over a prolonged period of time.

On Monday, the 54-year-old was sentenced to seven years of probation, as a part of a plea deal for charges of sexual abuse, trafficking in a controlled substance and official misconduct."

This fukker needs to get got. Crimes committed under color of law should be dealt with in the harshest possible manner. Instead, it's just another whitewash.

  12. Interesting site. The spelling of my last name is uncommon enough that it's easy to trace back to their arrival. 1857, new york from Germany (Prussia).

On my mom's side I traced one branch all the way back to Joseph Rodgers James (born 1756 Lynchburg Virginia).
