  1. i would like to see the pundits on twitter stfu and let things happen before poo poo ing them... jsut a thought, lol
  2. so you think that by losing our #1 HR guy from last year we should hit more HR ? really ? I also am expecting bouncebacks from Pujols and Hamilton but thats a bit optimistic at best i would think
  3. i recall... but as you say that was 3 years ago at this point, last year he was 3.99 in the NL so.. which is more relevant? Skaggs may be 22 but as i said before we arent built for 3 years from now. I dont know i just think its a lot for what we lose... and seemingly could be had thru FA without losing it. Trumbos OWAR puts him as the second best on the DBacks, behind Goldschmidt per ESPN stats Cahills WAR was 0.7, roughly he was between Garret Richards and Jerome Williams, who i still dont have a clue why we let walk away.... Skaggs was negative. I think if we are going to lose a proven offensive weapon we should be talking about more than potential.
  4. He didnt show it last year no... look were not built for 2-3 years from now either are we? Again though if its both.. ok, still not wild about it but ok... if its just one, i hate it, period. Until we know we are guessing, but i would have to wonder why they are giving these guys up based on past deals with them that haven't exactly worked out so we for us.. im starting o think DiPoto is the guy they invite to all the pokers games cause he cant bluff for his life.
  5. IF its that then maybe... still dont know if its worth it for just depth but meh, im going to be in the minority on this one i can see already... but ill say it again there is no friggin way i deal him for depth or something that cant be a legit 2-3.
  6. they arent dealing miley or corbin so look at the stats for the rest and do the math. The highest ERA among the other starters was 3.99 by Cahill.. which likely puts him over 4 in the AL. And they all have WHIPs north of 1.3 just so you dont think im stuck on ERA. How is this worth enough upgrade over what can be had in FA to justify the loss of the power? for me it isnt,
  7. so you guys are going to be ok with dealing Trumbo for a 4+ ERA pitcher? cause all those guys that we would likely get either were or would be accounting for league inflation... i for one am not.. we can find that in FA without losing him. it makes no sense! AS ve said i would be ok with it being a 203 type guys, but thats not what were talking about here.. if we do this were getting fleeced imo
  8. A reality check: Angels have had Mark Trumbo on the market for 2 months. Some rival execs like his power, but not seen as having high value. ouch-kibibble!!
  9. my first thought was trade Trumbo and sign him ourselves.... perfect #2 behind Trout in front of Pujols/Hambone is we had to trade trout, but the contract is going to be prohibitive of that one, lol or we could just say the hell with pitching sign him to slot in at 2 with pujols,ham,trumbo... the way the last couple of winters have gone... maybe not as crazy as i thought, lol
  10. His value is also relevant to the needs of the team too.... but i still say if the best we can get for him is an aging 3-4. forget it, we dont have the prospects to spare at that level of guy can be had in FA.
  11. that depends on the number 3 doesnt it? if were talking about a 1.3+ whip and ERA over 5 that darn sure isnt worth it now is it? and if the 30/100 thing isnt a good as it suggests then again, why would it get us anything of value in return? it isnt like thye grow on trees and everyone has them look like i said i get it, we need pitching, but we need something of value, not just a warm body because its what we could get.. didnt work so well last year. if we are going to give up Trumbo it should be for something more than a solid 3-4, thats all im saying.. it should be a legit 2-3 type guy Everything everyone is saying about Cron and Shuck is true, but lets not forget Trumbo can also spell at 1B and the OF so... they are still similar parts in that regard. but they wont put up his power numbers or even close. other numbers might be better... but i feel like we have enough empty 275+ type guys its just my opinion
  12. ok, why? if 30/100 doesn't even get something more than a #3 then whats the point? we can get #3s in FA.. why lose the bat.
  13. any option that loses Kendrick over Trumbo is better as it doesn't weaken the team on a daily basis as much to do it. just my 2 cents
  14. i dont like it, Cron cannot replace the production and we are giving up a guy that contributes every day for every 5th. if it were to happen it better be for a stud, not a #3, thats all i can say to that.
  15. IF that were true, and it was easily replaceable thru FA, then he has no value and any team that would have interest would simply sign Hart. Thats not a bag on Hart, just sayin why would anyone deal for Trumbo if they can just sign him then. We have in house options to replace infielders...
  16. or maybe the plan is to keep him as there is no way we build a stellar pitching staff with whats out there right now and need the offense? its only perfect if you think Trumbo should be moved... i for one do not and would far prefer to trade Kendrick or Aybar or both, before dealing Trumbo
  17. What market? as far as FA goes were talking about retread and guys that no one this side of desperate actually want and fighting over the privilege of overpaying them. i said going in we better get it thru trade cause FA signings were no better than what we already had
  18. its monopoly money to them. especially in an off season where they just watched Boston win it all.. who else is going to pay that?
  19. IF he got that offer and hasnt signed it, it means hes just using it to up the offer from the yanks. or hes an idiot
  20. its basically creating a draft so teams cant overbid to buy the player.... everyone would post the max and he would go the the worst record.. or the team would pull him back to save face so their star doesn't go to Houston
  21. been there, done that.. if this is the best option left forget it as far as im concerned.
  22. Cant say i get this one.. i mean i know it would have costa little more but the guy was a solid as anything in the back end of the rotation and bullpen options, and now we have another hole to fill i hope Dipoto's plan works the way he see it
  23. W T F ??????????? 11 mil average for a guy that hasnt been worth 11 dollars in 4 years? FA pitching deals just went passed silly to downright ludicrous.
