  1. Cafe racer 15 is pretty good but not an amazing double. I had it fresh at the brewery back in Feb., yet to have it out of a bottle. Speaking of Tustin Brewery, I am over at Smog City here in Torrance which started out of Tustin Brewing Co.
  2. Now I am hungry and thirsty....Slaters has had Pliny pretty regularly lately.
  3. Not a new group to me but one that seems to be gaining some steam lately.
  4. These guys have been around a bit but I just found them with their new release.
  5. Najas is the original craft beer bar around LA. I remember when they were carrying beers from all over the world before anyone else. They were the only place to go for a pint of good beer. It is funny how Select Beer Store and Najas are so close together but so much different, i prefer my beer with as little pretentiousness as possible.
  6. I checked this place out for the first time a few weeks back. If anyone is ever around Palos Verdes and wants to enjoy an amazing beer garden with a view tough to beat? Then check out Nelson's. http://www.terranea.com/palos-verdes-restaurant.php
  7. Big Eye over Sculpin is silly. She just proves she hasnt had west coast ipas therefore probably should refrain from a list. That site has been getting knocked quite a bit for its beer lists. Always East Coast centric.
  8. http://www.buzzfeed.com/christinebyrne/ipa-beers Another lame and highly inaccurate list. One west coast ipa? haha
  9. Najas in Redondo will launch their annual IPA week starting next Thursday. They always come through with some special kegs for this event. For tonight around LA, Smog City is going to have a cask of Dr Hoo-Mango Hoptonic IPA. They will also have Amarilla Gorilla and Hoptonic on tap.
  10. I like Thrillseeker quite a bit. Melrose is still my favorite IPA they bottle. INXS needs to be bottled by them.
  11. Did not like R and R very much and I have liked all that I have had from Rip Current.
  12. It is either that or half naked black men dancing seductively around you as you sip the brew out of a snifter. Your choice, we won't judge.
  13. Chocolate Rain is awesome but that song is no.......
  14. I think most of us here knew about the AleSmith releases for quite awhile you arent risking anything by posting it here. People who hide info about a release or a bar tapping a special brew just suck anyway and are the opposite kind of people that make the craft beer industry awesome.
  15. People who want to give up on next season are absolute idiots. Period.
  16. The Mohawk event was awesome. Totally different taste with the mix of hops and being on cask. I have run across Coma quite a bit and have a bunch in the fridge but the Prieta is tough to find.
  17. For the OC peeps that have yet to try Aroma Coma and/or Aroma Prieta. Drakes Tap Takeover tomorrow going down at The Iron Press. http://theironpress.wordpress.com/2013/07/19/tuesday-tap-takeovers-the-drakes-brewing-edition/
  18. The CA Beer Fest- San Dimas event is on sale now too. $45
  19. Just ignore the facts though, right? Most citizens don't jump others and beat their skull in. If you are a citizen and partake in this sort of event, death is always a possibility. Usually, the attacked ends up dead but this time it was the other way around. There are consequences to taking a life for Zimmerman, they just arent criminal ones. Saying his life was in danger isnt the only reason why he was not guilty, the actual evidence backs up his entire story.
  20. I want to try it but I have far too much already to drink. If you were closer a bottle share would be in order.
  21. Someone told me this at some point during the day and I was considering it but I had enough by that point. Upland is having a craft beer event. It just further proves that the area became cool once you left. http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/340777 I have dealt with cops twice in the last few years. Both times were military police in SD. Both times they were cool guys.
  22. Highly recommend buying this off the website. Really well done.
  23. I have far too much beer at home right now. It was a great weekend and I was able to meet some great people. Met a group of guys at Alpine wearing Four Peaks shirts, turns out one of them is a brewer there. Looking forward to Spring Training already and getting together for a bottle share while out there. I rocked my Dudes Brewery shirt which lead to many conversations about the brewery and the growth of the South Bay scene mirroring the rise of craft beer in SD County just a few years back. One can only hope LA can come close to that, thanks to Chris White it could happen. Met the Maltese Falcons beer club, out of LA, and exchanged numbers with a few guys for upcoming bottle shares. Pretty awesome that in 24 hours i meet these guys and members of Quaff, they are just the two best home brewery clubs in the nation. Only downer of the day was when I was driving by Miramar and made a rather aggressive right turn due to not paying attention. The backend of the Corolla got a bit lose but nothing I couldnt handle even if this is the mighty S model. Of course sitting across the street was military police and yep I got lit up. The guy walks up and asks why did I turn so fast that I lost a little traction, like there is a good answer for this? He walks away to run things as a guy in full camo is at the back of the passenger side gripping his gun. Seemed a bit of overkill but whatever, you never know when something may happen. Luckily, just a warning and I was on my way to continue the day. Ended up going to Alpine, Helms, Societe, Hess, Rough Draft and Stone (since they stay open much later), I really like Hess and they have a new location in North Park opening August 9th.
