I used to do that in college and my undergraduate degree is in Communication from University of Wisconsin. I consider myself as quite good as to selecting what is a good and bad source of information. It’s getting harder every day.

I read an article earlier today (will have to look for the link, because it was listed on the news feed on my phone) that lays the blame pretty squarely on Moreno. It cites his willingness to spend big on free agents while cutting costs in areas that have long term implications for the franchise. An unnamed former Angels executive likened it to "buying a McLaren and taking it to Jiffy Lube."
The article further states that during the aborted sale process, Moreno may have started believing his own hype as he pitched the sale to potential buyers and talked himself out of selling.
If I was a journalist all I have to do is read Fletchers 3 part description, make a couple phone calls and I’d have stories for a month.

It’s been a fun season overall. Maybe Arte’s strategy of making it about fan experience is fine, done properly.

@Blarg are out with your wife again, you’re supposed to be in charge of this stuff. I’m starting to suspect you’re doing more than having a hamburger. I hope your not doing anything inappropriate.

All I'll say is that it's just a really unfortunate name to give a hurricane.
I would have called it Trump

I'm from a town called Hog Mountain and my dad is from the town that the story in Deliverance is based on, so this is hitting close to home. Ha ha
I used to live in Battle Creek Michigan. Might have been a similar experience. I had my eyes open for banjos

Where’s @Blarg, he’s supposed to be handling all of this. Damn it, no more going out to dinner with your wife. You’re supposed to be in charge of birthday celebrations. Please don’t let this happen again.

Happy Bday dude. As a gift, the Angels did not lose today.
Uh, did they remember to play and score runs and catch the baseball?

I always think of this board as a family. Chuck is the dad, the Mods are like the big brothers, the long term posters are the close 1st cousins (god bless you Lou and Brandon) and the trolls are like 3rd removed cousins from different mothers who pop in and try and tell the brothers and dad how to run the family.
it’s very hillbilly-ish
I agree. And we’re pulling together because we lost close friends

He was another realtor being a putz on the board. What is it with realtors and Canadians?
My ex cheated on me with a realtor. I’d advise you not to bring one around.

I like the young core of this team a lot.
There's a ton of club control for a ton of guys that seemingly range from solid contributor to very good. With a couple in there having star potential.
Then you look up and down the performance of those guys this year and it's lower than expected due to not being on the field or just not playing as well as we would expect. While others are just getting started and we're hoping the performance can match the expectations.
This team has a much better base than any in the last 9 years. But there are legit gaps and it's gonna take a continued financial commitment to fill them.
Thanks Perry

LOL. Well, this franchise is a joke - tell me something new. There is a high irony to seeing the Mariners do so well under Dipoto. It took a few years, but he's got them going in the right direction: they should have their third 90+ win season, second in a row playoff berth.
Perhaps the only bigger joke are the Mets, with their $344M payroll--$65M more than anyone else--and a 58-66 record. Oh, and the Padres, though I suspect they'll bounce back next year.
You can laugh or you can cry. Today is a nice Sunday so I’m laughing

You should have known they’d shit the bed when Toronto lost. Or when you noticed it was the Angels.
Either or.
No option for both?
Gameday Thread: (8/23/23 Game 1 1pm) Reds @ Angels: Ohtani on the mound, no Trout or Schanuel
