  1. At least, Nolasco gives us a quality start and keep us in game half the time. Chavez has 5 quality starts in 20 games and averages about 5 IP/ a game. I hated the Chavez signing when it happened & I hate it more now. Bad Eppler.
  2. I'd prefer Gordon. Lead off guy with track record. Stolen bases. Another guy to get in front of Trout. While not "the" piece, he is A piece.
  3. Hopefully, this means we have a trade coming up... Please.
  4. They drafted Sale, Price, Pomeranz, Kimbrel, Porcello, etc? Yes they do draft & develop but they also buy a lot too. Their entire rotation is bought. Also, sadly, Sandoval has a higher BA than Valbuena...
  5. Only 5.5 out of division. Good pick up plus having him next season with Arrieta most likely gone. Cubs have plenty of time to turn it around. Having Quintana will help.
  6. " What wall?" - Jered Weaver, age 32
  7. Dee Gordon is worlds better than what we currently have at 2nd base or have had in quite some time. I'd take him for fringe prospects if they are truly looking for salary relief. Its all about the Trout window.
  8. Not like he's being blocked by Cron or Valbuena... But diversity is good.
  9. If the Dodgers used Kershaw liked Mad bum, they'd get swept... He's terrible in playoffs.
  10. Was at game last night. About 60/40 in favor of Angels fans but it did get loud when Grandal hit that HR. Nothing like a walk off like that though. Laughing as I'm walking out. Good times. Meyer got squeezed a few times but hr was def wildly effective. Bellinger looks more like Bell rung up...6k's in 9 AB's vs Angels...
  11. Mike Trout... God's gift to baseball. Don't sully his name comparing him to a mere mortal like Harper...
  12. So they ONLY played Puerto Rico the entire time?
  13. Agreed on manager part. Is Stanton injured? How is he not starting? That's 2 games in a row...
  14. Adrian whining? What a shock... Adrian complained about too many Sunday night games when he played in Boston. How bout not playing sub 500 baseball when you played all your games in Mexico, Adrian?
  15. Fun game last night. Only 16k fans last night. Approximately 16k the night before for PR/DR. WBC, despite its efforts, just isn't mainstream yet. If the US could get to the finals, that could change some things.
  16. The Puerto Rico vs DR game was awesome. Molina is s stud. That game felt like a playoff game. Snaps DR's 11 game win streak.
  17. Mexico shouldn't complain too much. Don't give up 5 runs in 9th to lose. Don't go 1-2. Play better. Its a shitty rule but don't be sub 500. Especially, when you had all home games.
  18. Funny enough, I was at that game. My buddy & I drove up from San Diego, taking a day off from college so I remember that game. As an Angel fan, I remember thinking this was a playoff preview. I don't remember who was pitching for the Angels, But Dennis Martinez pitched for Cleveland & Chili Davis did hit a grand slam off him. I wanna say the Angels won 5-1 but can't say for sure. They did win, that I know. Crazy small world. I was wrong on score but everything else good. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CAL/CAL199507260.shtml
  19. I'm going with Chavez. Wasn't a fan of the move when we picked him up. I hope he proves me wrong but... I fear Blanton level suckiness
  20. I was 12 when Wallace Keith Joyner started for the Angels. I remember not wanting to like him because he was replacing Rod Carew, who's batting stance I tried to emulate so many times playing baseball with neighborhood friends. Then he started hitting home runs & scooping every throw in the dirt. I'm sure Doug DeCinces loved him. How could I not? Yes, Wally World became my world. I collected every rookie baseball card of his that I could. Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Score, etc.. I remember playing RBI baseball & was so excited using him & Reggie Jackson back to back in the lineup. When he signed with KC, I was so disheartened. Back then, I only had my local newspaper ( San Diego Union) to rely on via the box score to see how he was doing. Certainly, wasn't the same. When he was traded to San Diego, I remember jumping up & down the hallway of my home. While he wasn't going to be an Angel anymore, he was coming back to California & I'd get to see him play again. And Wally World, to a smaller degree, was reborn in San Diego. Also, I always thought it was cool that Wally Joyner was in the movie, Stealing Home.
  21. Just needling ya. Lord knows you don't get enough around here.
  22. Usually, scratching your nuts is pretty satisfying but I get your point, Oz. I can't believe Huston Street is only 33. Seems like he's been around forever. I'm hoping he was so bad last year due to injury & NOT lack of stuff. Bailey finished on a good note last season. Bedrock was solid & down right nasty last season. I'm not completely scared but I don't feel good about it, either. Bringing in Jason Grilli when he appeared to be done worked out in our favor. My biggest fear is we blame their Spring High ERA's on them being vets & working out kinks, then starting 1 of the 2 older guys as the closer & they bomb & the Angels get off to a slow start...again.
