Chili83 got a reaction from Amazing Larry in what if the Angels were still on KTLA...
Something for us old schoolers. A little of the old with a little of the new.

Chili83 got a reaction from DMVol in One of the best stretches I can remember
Going WAY back, reminds me of 1995. Around July they just started blowing out teams every night for weeks. (Cheating at Baseball Almanac I see a 15 game stretch where they scored 126 runs.)
Just before the roof caved in.
What was number-funny about this run is how it kept climbing, hit a peak, then barely tapered off. Run totals went 5, 7, 8, 14, then back the other way 12, 9, 8, 7. Then they ruined it by going back up to 11.

Chili83 got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in 2002
The last time the Angels won 10 in a row. They hadn't done that since 1997. Before that, '79.
I think a few of us remember back that far.
Unlike myself, who originally titled this thread "1997."

Ernesto Fire-can is your choice? Your fandom must not stretch back very far.
Willie Fraser (sort of Ernesto-lite)
Joe Grahe
Dave Parker
Jason Grimsley
Steve Finley
Vernon Wells
Junior Naboa
Chico Walker
Dave Goltz
Doug Corbett
Frank Lacorte
Hmm, guess Ernutso continues the great tradition of hating mostly craptastic pitchers.

Chili83 got a reaction from LBHalos17 in I miss Rex
It's been over 20 years but I'll do my obligatory Al Conin shout-out. Then Bob "Let me look that up" Starr.
Vic has grown on me, good action voice, good dry wit. Getting pretty pathetic that Terry Smith continues to close in on longest tenured Angel announcer totals (now standing at 13, needs three more years to eclipse Starr).

Would definitely be a good vent show for Bob...and us.

Chili83 got a reaction from Chuck in Booted from the Big A for cheering the team on?
She has a pretty big forum, and with her biting kind of humor, should be able to knock the org down a peg or two. But none of it will take away being tossed on an opener. Bitter taste for every game she now attends afterwards.
Two guys in the RF Pavillion were lucky the Angels didn't rally in the 9th. They were leaning over the rail and banging on the metal frame to the scoreboard for ten mins. before two security staff came down. Told them to knock it off, they sat, security left. Six steps back up toward the tunnel for security, the two guys began banging again. Security came back down, and the weenie white dude one tried to muscle this drunk up the stairs, saying, "You're gone! You're gone! Let's go!"
Then Bourjos popped out to end it and everybody grabbed their beer-stained calendars.

Chili83 got a reaction from Chuck in David Courtney - A Tribute
At the thought of not hearing Dave's voice tonight, I dug up some tapes (and hit youtube) for some of his work to remember him by. Won't be the same w/o him this season.
