  1. New mock draft up today at Baseball America:

    Jackson Kowar

    FloridaRHP
    Notes:

There are still teams and scouts who say they prefer Kowar to his rotation-mate Brady Singer, and the Saturday starter has put up a solid season for the Gators this spring. The Angels figure to be in on pitching, and a number of second-tier college arms figure to start going off the board around this range.

  2. No. 17 Los Angeles Angels — Kumar Rocker, RHP, North Oconee (GA) HS

At 6-5 and 250 pounds, Rocker stands out in this year’s draft.  His sheer size allows for easy velocity, as the right hander routinely runs his fastball into the upper-90s with late movement. Beyond his fastball, Rocker also features a power slider that, while inconsistent at times, could develop into a very effective second pitch.

    Ethan Hankins

    Forsyth Central HSRHP
    Notes:

Hankins has looked better on the mound in recent weeks as he continues to build innings after missing a few starts with a scapula issue, and his camp is confident that a clean MRI will allow teams to worry less as well. He isn’t quite back to the summer form that had him as the best player in the high school class, but he’s trending in the right direction and currently could be on the board as high as No. 8.

  4. Casey (Morgantown):

    • Give me a guy not on the BA 100 you can see vaulting into the top 25 to start next season.

Kyle Glaser: Brandon Marsh. Dude is a mix of size, athleticism, tools and skills that are scary, and if he stays healthy we're talking about one of the top OF prospects in all of baseball

The #Angels have called up RHP Justin Anderson for his major league debut. Also Eduardo Paredes is back. Blake Wood has been placed on the DL, although his exact injury hasn’t been released yet.

Blake Wood has a right elbow impingement. More detail on that to come. #Angels

The PTBNL is Troy Scribner.  Maybe he'll get more of a chance to start in the Atlanta org.

The #Angels have acquired RHP Akeel Morris from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash considerations or a PTBNL. Morris has been optioned to @SaltLakeBees. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Troy Scribner has been designated for assignment.
