  1. Won my 12 team Yahoo fantasy league. $900 coming my way. It's a keeper league where managers get to keep 5 players from the previous season. We have a draft budget of $265. Cost of players drafted and kept from previous season will count against next season's draft. Here are the players I'm considering mainly based on performance and price: OF Corey Dickerson $1 (picked him up as F/A early this season) C Jonathan Lucroy $1 (acquired via trade early in season for Mark Trumbo and Joe Smith) 3B Lonnie Chisenhall $1 (picked up as F/A early in season after Freese's offense was pitiful) OF Yasiel Puig $6 (acquired via multi-player trade 2013 season involving Puig/Kipnis for Chris Davis/Weaver/Beltran/Uehara) OF Kole Calhoun $5 (drafted this season) P Jon Lester $13 (drafted this season) P Matt Shoemaker $1 (acquired via F/A in late May) P Chris Tillman $1 (acquired via F/A towards All-Star break) P Gerrit Cole $1 (keeper from 2013 season) P Garrett Richards $1 (acquired via F/A in April)
  2. I'll be there with my brother. Need several hours of tailgating in the OC Credit Union parking lot beforehand.
  3. As long as Lou has the avatar of Whitney or Chelsea or whomever the gorgeous blond cheerleader was during the UCLA Final Four years, he's the #1 Bruin fan (that's not Jojo or me).
  4. Recent games in Las Vegas have not bode well for the Bruins.....Wyoming Cowboys, BYU Cougars. And it best be a night game. So where should the postgame celebration be? Spearmint Rhino? Crazy Horse 2?
  5. If he was UCLA's inside guy, then why did Yahoo Sports break the Reggie Bush scandal which got the NCAA's interest and not Wolf who supposedly is the USC beat writer and should be connected to the innerworkings of Heritage Hall?
  6. I recall the last Angels ALDS home weekday game was 2004 Game 1
  7. Don Baylor - Rocco AJ Pzynski - The Black Hand Hatcher - Clemenza (let's get 'em while we got the muscle) Joe West - Hyman Roth Doug Eddings - Jonny-ola
  8. Lazy review. The writer cherry picks which features of the 4 Android phones (Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 4, HTC M8, and Moto X) are compared against the advertised features of the soon-to-be released Apple 6 and Plus. If you're going to do a comparison, then be thorough and compare all the phones. Also, the writer fully neglects the G3 which is LG's flagship phone. It doesn't have the brand name yet, like Sammy or Motorola, it it is superior in many ways to both of these phones. www.mobiletechreview.com comes out with excellent reviews and comparisons once phones are released.
  9. Wait, wait, wait. I thought Fuentes was Frieri's left-handed alter ego. I'm so confused now.
  10. The Pirate is in Year 3 of a 4 year contract. Does WSU have the $$ to buyout Leach? And can they lure someone with name recognition (good or bad) that Leach has?
  11. Where's Bam Bam Morales before he left the Halos and turned into a tub of goo.
  12. Kazmir is reverting back to the useless Kazmir of 2009-2010. It's wonderful watching the Green Elephants circle the drain with Kaz leading the way.
  13. I was thinking more like Van Halen's "Jump" mocking Josh Shaw's antics. El Siete has certainly put usc back on the college football radar.
  14. Less than 24 hours until the Bruin Revolution continues...
  15. Toran is a Guard. Unless you meant Benenoch at RG and McDermott at RT. In any case, finally UCLA has quality depth on the O-line.
  16. I may go as well. I heard to get there early, at least an hour before practice begins.
  17. I agree Nate. Hundley should not have to scramble and improvise as much this season. And the run game should improve with the added depth and experience on the O-line. Reading the practice reports, it looks like Bunche (LT), Redmond (LG), Brendal ©, Toran (RG), and McDermott (RT) are the projected starters coming out of Fall Camp. Quessenberry, Benenoch, Lacy, Wysocki will be second string. That's pretty good depth when Quessenberry, Benenoch, and Wysocki started games last season.
  18. ASU was a good team last year. I'm not trying to knock them down. Though it's still bothersome that UCLA almost came from 3+ TDs down deficit only to squander a few opportunities late in the 4th quarter when ASU's defense was gassed.
  19. The Sun Devils should have lost at home against Wisconsin last year. If any of you recall, Wisconsin has the ball inside the Sun Devils 10 yd line with less than 30 seconds to play. The Wiscy QB takes a knee on 1st or 2nd down to line up what should be the game winning FG. But fat Wil Sutton laid on the football after the play had been whistled with the clock continuing to wind down, eventually til time expired and the game ended. The referees were dumbfounded in all the chaos, which could have easily been avoided if any one of the officials used any common sense and flagged ASU for a delay of game penalty. The clock would have stopped and the ball would have been spotted half the distance to the goal. Then, Wisconsin would have had an almost guaranteed chip shot FG for the victory. I can't recall if these were Pac12 referees. If they were, then the debacle was par for the course. In any case, ASU will start 8-9 new players on defense and an offensive line with at least two new starters along with a lineman whose switching positions. That's a lot of personnel to replace, and I don't see this team gelling until later in the season. Games are won in the trenches and I like UCLA's talented and experienced D-line to handle ASU's O-line. And UCLA will be coming off a bye week after Texas to give them an extra four days to rest and prepare for the Sun Devils.
  20. As of today, here's my UCLA regular season prediction WIN @ Virginia WIN vs Memphis WIN @ Texas. (Yea, it's a supposed neutral game in Dallas). WIN @ ASU WIN vs Utah WIN vs Oregon WIN @ Cal WIN @ Colorado WIN vs Arizona LOSS @ Washington WIN vs southern cal WIN vs Stanford 11-1 regular season with a narrow loss to Washington on the road at Husky Stadium.
  21. If UCLA loses to Arizona State, then their season will be a disappointment in my eyes. Barring any catastrophic injuries the Bruins should be 3-0 heading into Sun Devil Stadium.
  22. Lou: Your avatar is my all-time favorite. Is that Whitney? Or the other blond (whose name eludes me) from that 05-06 cheer squad?
  23. Actually, my net cost was $235. Bought the LG G3 on Craigslist for $460. Sold my old LG G2 on Craigslist for $225.
