Personally, if he doesn't sign with the Angels', I would love to see him sign with the Dodgers so I can still go see him play whenever the hell I want. I know that won't be a popular opinion but screw it.

Seattle just came onto our field and gave Ohtani a power point on signing with them this offseason. They effectively ended our season while he sat there and watched. I've accepted Ohtani is gone if we miss the playoffs; I would love to be wrong about that. I think what needs to happen is what's needed to happen for awhile now; we need to blow it up. Trade whatever you can for prospects, clear out whatever bad contracts you can, and start from scratch.

While accurate, at least some good ducks playoff runs feel a lot closer in time than any meaningful Angels' baseball. Could be wrong though...just feels that way.

I love the sentiment from Ohtani but this goes both ways, I feel. Ohtani has to give the front office some sort of sign that if the Angels' finish strong, he's willing to sign an extension with us. Even if its a short 2-3 year type of deal to continue growing on this season and give him the opportunity to hit the open market if we continue to fail. If the Angels' get an amazing offer for him and the front office isn't confident in this season, then they've got to at least give serious consideration into trading him.

Just curious, I know Trout is under contract for years to come and has shown an increase of injuries and some prolonged slumps. If we trade Ohtani, any chance we commit to a full blow up and shop him?
