I said at the beginning that I’d be annoyed or whatever the word was I used if someone opted out of the season due to covid and this was at the beginning of Covid. So I guess I stayed true to my word then.

Honestly I have no clue logically you’d think someone wouldn’t quit with 5 games left to save for free agency. But also I guess what’s 5 games or 5 days in the scheme of anything. I can give up a lot of things for 5 days. None of it made sense to me. Which is why the only thing I could think of was free agency and or annoyed at Angels? Stranger things have happened. I wasn’t the only one who thought that way either. Multiple people on here backed my presumption and people either felt like I did or was completely ok with it.

Which then why did he play the season if this was the case and only now when there's 5 games left he decided to leave? I guess it just doesn't make sense. Maybe it was all this quarantine thing if these teams made the postseason and he didn't want to put his family through it. I am ok with admitting my assumptions were wrong. It happens

For me my comfort level with Covid started out not great, but the more and more information that we've gotten I have been more at ease with what's going on. I feel the risk on myself and the people around me is lower than what originally came out about this covid. The average age death is somewhere around 75. Has your comfort level been exactly the same or has it worsened?

Like when Arte Signed Colon Vlad Hunter etc. That culture? Arte can be blamed sure, but we wouldn't have Trout locked up or Rendon locked up if it wasn't for Arte. He has done more good than harm to this organization. We wouldn't be near the top in the league of spending if it wasn't for Arte. We sure weren't with the previous owners.

Can't it be all three. Dipoto drafted them so he obviously thought they had talent. Eppler kept them in the system so he obviously thought they had talent. The players worked their asses off to become what they are right now so they deserve credit. The coaches and training staff for helping them get there as well. If anyone deserves more credit it's probably the players themselves. But I would praise all parties involved. I didn't think they had it in them.

sure everyone is making assumptions on everything. No one has inside information until that information comes out. With the information we do have the assumption I’m making is because of free agency. People don’t agree that it could be family related people don’t care that he opted out and/or they’re ok with it. Create another poll with do you think he opted out for family reasons and I’ll bet it’ll you and 1-2 other people. Most people get exactly why he opted out. Youre clearly the only one I’ve seen argue it’s because someone in his family is sick or some made up thing that no ones substantiated the claim in the media or through the team. Also I created the poll cause I wanted to see if people agreed with his decision or not. I like polls and wanted to see where people stood. If I was trying to disprove your theory I would have asked the question I posed to you above. Not everything is about you.

Totally tank. I don't think you've actually seen a Winnie the Pooh episode in a while so I am not sure you know who Eeyore is. Where am I saying woo is me? I am simply stating facts. It's not a good look no matter how you slice it. Hope it works out for him in free agency and with his next time. I don't like quitting on your teammates. I wouldn't like it if someone quit in the 3rd period in hockey and just left the game and I don't like it leaving the team with 5 games left to play. You can disagree. But no where am I wishing Simmons ill will and no where am I feeling sorry for him or myself.

Strad you honestly crack me up. When did I call him a villain or make him out to be a villain. I said it is what it is. It's selfish but that's what he wants to do. So be it. I think it's quitting on his team. He is thinking about his future and about free agency. You are the only one that thinks something is going on with his family. No one in the organization knew anything before he called it quits on the season. I'll gladly take my lashing if something turns out that he walked away because of a family emergency. But I think you will eat crow way before I eat crow on this one. You an have a different perspective and a different take that's fine. But don't put words in my mouth when I didn't say anything that you have accused me of saying.

At what point would you have been bothered by it? 10 games? 15 games? 20? Do you care if they show up at all?

I guess I don’t understand that thinking. At what point would you be ticked off that someone quit on his team? Or their fans? We get mad all day long that this or that person sucks. But at least they’re still trying. They’re not good anymore but they’re going out there every day trying to be good. Quitting to me is inexcusable. It’s 5 games left. I understand it in the fact the offseason will be here shortly, but I don’t in the fact at the end of the day these are your teammates you don’t just walk out on them. Not a great look.
