  1. Ok what's that mean in terms of wins and losses. Do I think a manager is valuable sure. But do I think they matter more than a couple wins a year no. These professional athletes are professionals for a reason I don't think having a dog sh*t manager matters. Is Trout going to perform the same numbers as he did with a bad manager to a good one? Yes. Of all the professional sports coaches/managers MLB is the least important one. NFL is by far the most with NHL and then NBA being next. MLB manager is given numbers and they send in the hitter or pitcher either tries to get the person out or get a hit as best they can. This isn't an argument or a big argument. We all have opinions mine is clearly right , but you can disagree if you so choose.
  2. He's in the Hall because he had good teams. A manager doesn't make a good team, player or anything else. Managers in baseball are the least important manager position in all of professional sports could possibly be least important position in all of professional sports.
  3. @realDonaldTrump Vote early vote often

  4. @realDonaldTrump Awesome news

  5. I really would love to hear the Angels hiring for a president of baseball operations positions then a vp of same position then hiring of a gm. I mean then I’d feel better about the Angels going forward. If they’re just looking for a GM I’m not going to be super optimistic.
  6. The further baseball gets away from football the better they are off. Also no one cares how many wins a team has once they get to the post season skates are wiped clean. I got one liked how many teams were in the playoffs this year. Made it more entertaining. Even the Angels had a chance to make the playoffs the last week of the season. also no one cares about stats anymore. Starting pitchers don’t pitch more than 6 innings. Bullpens start the games sometimes. Batting average Rbi hr 2bs 3bs don’t matter it’s all about the WAR. End the season And playoffs before football starts. Shorten spring training while your at it. No one needs to play 40 games before the season actually starts.
  7. Congrats Dodgers. You were the best team and you’ve been a top 3 organization for a while now. That being said the offseason starts right now. Arte needs to take notice and mirror what a class A organization looks like.
  8. Thanks for the honesty. I got to be honest I’m not a huge basketball fan but I prefer 3 point jump shooting to 5 step travel dunks but that’s just me. NFL is just fun it’s a timed game with an ending it fits into my life perfectly. Baseball is more tricky. I remember when I first had season tickets I could get people to go with me most games and then it became hard to long games long season etc etc and it’s not like I had bad seats I had seats 3 rows behind home plate. Even myself I kind of got over going to that many games. I applaud you for watching that much baseball honestly I’m probably around 50 games a year watching at least 5-7 innings worth. I honestly don’t think I’ve watched a full baseball game on television unless it’s a game I am personally at in quite sometime. The last game that wasn’t an Angels game I watched was the Dodgers Red Sox World Series game I went to. Other than that I won’t watch other teams play.
  9. I respect your opinion. If I may I would love to ask some random questions... Do you watch the NBA or NFL? How many games of the Angels would you say you watch during the regular season? How many other teams games would you say you watch during the regular season? I ask this mostly because while I love baseball, I have found myself over the last 10 years watching less and less baseball and watching more and more football. I still care obviously I post here on the regular. But I just find this long season to be mind numbing to me. I think I would care more like I did this season with a shorter season and more playoff teams. I have nephews neices friends who have kids etc and all ages and out of all of them only 2 of them like to play baseball the rest don't want to watch, don't want to play, don't care about it. I see this as a problem and a problem MLB can fix with some finely tuned changes.
  10. I am 38 and I didn't take it as snide. I think baseball should adapt some NFL and to a lesser extend NBA kind of changes to make MLB more entertaining. When the NFL smokes the MLB in ratings on a regular season game compared to a WS game that's a problem. People are turning away from MLB more than ever. It is losing ground nationally, regionally it does well. But I honestly couldn't tell you a single Ray in the WS and I think that's a problem. I can tell you a player from every NFL team.
  11. Entertaining? Yep I get that. I'd rather have less regular season games more post season games and more post season drama. The regular season and post season has been completely regional the numbers are dwindling behind both of those. Time to revamp the process and keep more stars and teams involved later in the year to capture more eyes. The teams will play and the better team will win. That's why I would rather the post season be series of 5 or 7 instead of the one game play in etc. People tune in for the playoffs. How many regular season Tigers games do you watch? Now tell me how many NFL regular season games you watch that aren't your favorite team?
  12. Nope. Didn't say they were. Regular season means nothing. It's how you do in the post season. All you got to do is get there, doesn't matter how you do it.
  13. Ya it was terrible watching the 16-0 Pats get defeated by the Giants. What garbage
  14. They played the same season as everybody else. And it’s not like anyone didn’t think they’d make the playoffs. If anything they had to play more playoff teams than usual once the playoffs started. If the Dodgers win just like the Lakers or Tampa Bays title all will be well deserved. You can only play what the league puts in front of you. Tampa has a shot to take this to a game 7 and you know what they say about game 7s.
  15. This season has been a blast. Every game mattered more. I think baseball can take a lesson from this for the future. I wouldn’t mind a shorter condensed version of the regular season to say 100 games and more teams in the playoffs. I’d prefer longer series in the playoffs to all 7 games series. But I enjoyed this season.
  16. I agree. I don't think baseball in general spends normally this off season. Especially with the fear that this stuff goes into 2021 and maybe even 2022. This whole economy could be in a world of hurt.
  17. Ahh now I am more confused. They've had so many terrible GMs. Also I think the one I am remembering is the Atlanta one. So you were right with Stewart. Now I don't remember what Byrnes haha. Either way I think being GM of the Diamondbacks should exclude you from being GM again.
  18. I think it was that trade and wasn't there a big trade involving Atlanta as well? Maybe I am mis remembering?
  19. No I wasn’t thinking of him. I didn’t think Byrnes was the one who signed Grienke. But thank you.
  20. @justonypony @CJAnthonyCUI @beachsc11 When’s the wedding

  21. I don't know if it were me I'd stay away from a guy on his 3rd try at this job when he's failed two times before it. Maybe that's just me though. I would hard pass on Byrnes. But I could see Arte doing it.
