  1. I'm in for the tailgate and will bring some munchies. Anybody got an extra single ticket for the game? I am down for the tailgate even if I don't score a ticket with the group for the game. Got plans in the morning, so can't do the softball game unfortunately.
  2. Seeing the Olympic teams possible rosters is such a tease in the middle of summer. Is it hockey season yet??
  3. One of my coworkers has it as well. He missed a week of work when it first surfaced, and still wasn't 100% when he came back. Then he was ok for a couple months, then got it a little again. He's been ok for a few months now.
  4. Sounds like a beautiful place. I was born at Anaheim General Hospital. Have lived in O.C. for 97% of my life. Dad was in the Army when I was a wee lad, so I've lived in Missouri and Georgia during that time, but don't have a single memory of those places. Seen pictures of me there, but don't recall it one bit. Currently residing in Mission Viejo, right around the corner from my old high school.
  5. I got $50 that he dies in a car wreck while he's driving. I don't even pay attention to this guy, but I've still heard more than once of him driving around L.A. like it's the autobahn...while in traffic. Dude thinks he's 8 feet tall, invisible and bullet-proof so it's just a matter of time.
  6. Amen, brother!! I do feel bad for the Devils fans though. That's gotta be a kick in the nuts to lose a guy in his prime after signing a 'lifetime' contract just a couple seasons ago.
  7. Since the late 90s. I am in Orange County, CA. Lived here 98% of my life. We don't have a home team here anymore..and no, I don't consider the Chargers to be a home team to anybody north of S.D. County. It sucks we're just inside the blackout range for them since they haven't been selling out much lately. But at least they can show them on the Red Zone channel. I didn't watch football when I was a kid at all..it was only baseball and the Lakers. Finally got into football just before the Raiders and Rams left. I rooted for the Raiders..which is weird maybe, since I was born in Anaheim. But I wasn't a Raiders fan that long before they left, so I didn't feel bad about not rooting for them anymore. Plus it was tough to root for a team that left you..even though they went back to the city they were in before L.A. Next couple of years, I just watched games and didn't root for any team. But watching without having a team kinda sucked, so I chose Washington because it's the nations capital and I always liked their style of play under Gibbs..and loved their logo and colors, too. I don't have a problem with the name actually. I wouldn't vote to change it. But I can see the racist part about it, so that's why I wouldn't cry too much if they changed the name to something that worked with the current logo. Not too big on the older logos like the spear and the R.
  8. I think tons of Vancouver peeps would make the drive. Ticket prices are nuts for Canucks games. Since it's offseason right now, I can't look them up on Ticketmaster, but I think I've read that even the worst upper decks seats are $100+ each. And many of their games are pay-per-view as well, not regular cable like Kings and Ducks.
  9. The last couple of weeks I've watched a few of ESPN's 30 for 30 movies on DirecTV and Nexflix streaming. They all have been very good so far. One's I've seen are Bo Jackson, Fernando Valenzuela, Marcus Dupree, Gretzky trade to L.A., a day in June '94/OJ driving up the freeway, and the one on the '83 NFL draft. The Bo Jackson one has been my favorite one so far..got to see the rest of them still. Also watched "Knuckleball" on Netflix the other day..very good as well.
  10. I have used a place in Canada for the past 20 years and they do a kick ass job. The one time I didn't use them, I went to Chick's in Tustin and they didn't do the numbers correctly and had to have them re-do it. I assumed they would know how to do a Kings jersey since they are a local team. Wrong! Anyways, go to https://www.rivercitysports.com/US/index.cfm and call the phone number on the bottom of the page. They will tell you what to do to send it in. Here are a couple samples of work they have done for me: They didn't have the pattens for this 90s Angels alternate jersey, so I printed some pictures off the web and sent them in the box with the jersey. Nailed it. Kings jersey:
  11. Redskins fan here..I don't really mind them changing the name, but I love the logo and colors. If they change the name, I hope it's a name that can still work with the Indianhead logo. But Snyder is pretty set on keeping the name. It will only get changed if Big Brother finds a way to make them change it.
  12. Yeah, I was surprised they didn't get a little more as well. But as a Kings fan, I'm glad to see Ryan outta here..dude always seemed to score against us.
  13. Yeah, I wasn't 100% on Reservoir Dogs since the pic is so small, so I did a Google image search and found RD shots that looked just like your pic. Maybe Quintin did a shot just like it as a tribue.
  14. Time for some Angels stuff: Angels shelf on my bookcase. Rally sock monkey hanging on the side. Bonus: Jimi Hendrix Electric vodka bottle that I picked up in Spokane a few years ago. They got sued by Jimi's family and stopped making it soon after I got it. Michael Cooper 8x10. No GlausGirl, you can't have that. Got this little G.A. thing from a customer in Delaware when I was doing a baseball vacation road trip with my dad a few years ago. He had it on his desk and I commented that it was cool. He told me I could take it, so of course I helped myself. I don't know what it is though..maybe some sort of baseball game piece? Guitar pick for scale: Back view: T-shirt that was in one of my boxes with 8x10s: This is one of my favorite Angels pieces. Took this picture in the parking lot after Game 7. Printed it out and got it signed at Fan Fest a couple years later by GA and Sosh: That's all for now. The rest of my stuff (bobbleheads/shot glasses/8x10s) is in boxes in the garage waiting until I move again.
  15. Used to go to cards shows all the time in the early to mid 90s. Here's a small portion of some of my signed stuff: Ernie Banks 8x10: Stan Musial 8x10: Stan was great. He took a break from signing while I was in line and played 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' on his harmonica. Would have video of that if we had mobile phones with video cameras back then. Upper Deck promo sheet signed by 3 of the guys on the sheet: Brock and Gibson were cool..Roberts was a douche. He sees what I put down on the table to get signed and says to one of the other players signing next to him "Jeez..I'm sooo sick of signing these things." Dude - you just got paid to sign for a fan, and you have to pull that? Not cool. This is one of the pictures that I took at Fenway on 9/1/01 signed by NOOMAAAAAHH: One of my customers up in the S.F. bay area had a roommate that worked for the A's. He told me I could send him stuff and he'd get his roomie to get them signed. He got this signed for me and another one (some Dodgers player that also played for the Sox) for my father. He also got my dad a J.D. Drew broken bat from batting practice one day and I gave it to my pops for Father's Day that year. I also sent him my plastic Angels helmet to get some more Angels players signatures on it the next time they were in town. I NEVER GOT THE HELMET BACK. &*%$*#@!!! I had JT Snow, Rex Hudler, Eckstein, Washburn, Jack Howell and a few more on there..can't remember who else since it's been a few years since that happened.
  16. Some other cool cards I came across digging for the Chili cards: Former Angels greats: Complete sets with some other cards and maybe a program or two in the back..sample of complete set on spine:
  17. Might try that as a last resort. Thanks for the tip, B. And nice Reservoir Dogs avatar, btw. I picked up the colored vinyl soundtrack a few months ago. Got a (Mr.) white one.
  18. I have a box full of commons in my closet. I am going through them right now for you.. Here's what I found: Send me a PM with name and mailing address and I'll get them in the mail for you.
  19. I am doing an online Secret Santa-type gift exchange. The theme is pint & shot glasses. The person I am buying for lives in Charlotte, N.C. and is a sports fan, so I wanna get them a local sports team related pint glass. I missed the game when they gave out the Trout glasses, so I am offering $15 cash or $10 cash and 2 Tim Salmon jersey hat pins/clip thingies. Anybody willing to help a brother out here? Would like to meet up in person in Orange County for the trade..don't wanna pay for shipping twice. I have seen them on Craigslist for $20, but I have already bought two other glasses so far and trying to keep expenses at a minimum. Hit me up if you would like to make a sale/trade. Thanks and LTBU!
  20. Born at Anaheim General Hospital in '69. My father was a Dodgers fan, so when I was younger I rooted for Dodgers in the NL and Angels in the AL. They didn't play each other back in those days, so wasn't that hard to like both teams..plus I was just a kid and didn't know any better about liking two different teams. I stopped rooting for the Dodgers when they let my favorite Dodgers player Garvey walk away in free agency after the '83 season. The Angels were then my main team and Padres were my NL team until Garvey retired. I have only rooted for the Angels since then. And I got to attend both Game 6 & 7 of the 2002 World Series.
  21. Ex-customer of mine in Delaware got a tattoo of a guitar with demon girls on either side of the guitar. Posted a pic on Facebook. The girls were 'throwing the horns'. One of the girls had the hand facing the wrong way. I commented about the arm facing the wrong way. Apparently he or the artist didn't notice before work was done. He went back and had it 'fixed'. Looked like crap. Lesson of the day - proof-read a tattoo first!
  22. My Redskins are playing @ Oakland this year. Who's down for a road trip?
  23. Good to see them finally resembling the Kings we saw in the playoffs last year. Anybody going to the players appearance tomorrow in Seal Beach?
