  2. I am so saddened to read of the loss of your Dad. I met him on the old Los Angeles Times Refugee Board so many years ago. We met up for a few games together but mostly interacted on a daily basis talking about our beloved Angels. Funniest memory was when he got everyone to start using the word Sip in place of the word suck to voice displeasure about the team. This was to set a better example for his kids. You were taken way too soon "Pablo" but you will be remembered for your wit and for just being a genuine kind of guy. My sincere condolences to his Family and Friends. R.I.P.

  3. Remember that Edison commercial that used to play during every commercial break in the late 90's? Something about how the dad can't make it to his daughter's play because he has to work, but he ends up saving the day when the power goes out.

I swear I saw it a thousand times.

    Daddy, I'm scared.

  4. It seems that Arte is a man of principles. He took Josh at his word that he would keep his nose clean ( no pun intended) I would like to know of anyone here that would not be shit canned from their job for doing what Hamilton did disease or not. I applaud the Angel organization for their zero tolerance on druggies. I hope Karma catches up with Josh.

  5. Percy,

You don't know me and I rarely post. I have known Chuck since the LA Times Refugee board. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 inoperable lung cancer in Feb 2013. It is indeed scary. Try not to pay attention to the statistics thrown out by the Doctors. They are based on years old research and things change everyday. I have yet to find an expiration date on my body so I don't know how the Doctors can predict it.. I was very lucky with the  9 chemo treatments I had never got sick and even shared the nurses Bar-B-Que lunches some days while they pumped the poison in. The radiation will kick your ass. Go to the health food store and buy some Manuka Honey and eat a few spoons of it before each radiation to protect your throat. I didn't know about it when i had my treatment and still have difficulty sometimes swallowing when I eat. It will bring you to a whole new unknown level of exhaustion. I could croak tomorrow I suppose but for now I just put one foot in front of the other. I believe attitude has a lot to do with it. Here is a pretty good support board if you feel the need to scream/cry/vent and yes even laugh.

Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to contact me

  6. I lost a dear friend Saturday, She was in her early 40's. She was posting funny things on Facebook at 8 P.M. Her Mother let me know at 10:30 that same night that she had passed, Indeed treasure each day and tell the people close to you how you feel.

  7. I am sorry for anyone who loses a loved one to a senseless tragedy. I also felt bad for the others that died who seemed to get glossed over at the beginning. I have always wondered what kind of impact Nick would have had. I am glad he went out on a high note and his last words to Butcher were "I got it,Coach"  He had to be so happy that night. I think our lives are already planned out from the beginning. You can alter some things by your behavior but trying to decide if one quicker out or playing extra innings would have changed things. Doubt it.

     RIP Nick

  8. I received one last week that said because I had ignored their other requests that if I didn't show up there would be a warrant issued. I live in the mountains and our mailbox is on a street corner 2 blocks from my house. I don't have anything that is important sent there. I agree that if they don't send them registered they have to prove that you received it. I believe that the info is garnered from the DMV.

  9. We don't have DSL so no routers or modems, just broadband. I just tried C/system32/drivers/etc and now everything is back. May just be a coincidence

because the ipad runs safari not my verizon usb. I am just thankful it is back. It had not worked in a few days. I know just enough about computers to be dangerous so it is always an adventure.
